AI video gets less janky

AI video gets less janky

gm legends, happy Tuesday.

Here’s today’s lineup: Runway Gen-4.5 tightens up AI video so it’s less demo fodder and more something you can actually use, Stickerbox lets kids speak an idea and turn it into real-world stickers without handing them a screen, and FocusRoom gives wandering brains a calm, one-task-only space to actually get work done.

Video that actually tries to move right

Runway Gen-4.5 is the latest version of Runway’s text to video model, built to handle real motion instead of just pretty loops. It focuses on better physics, smoother camera control, and more consistent action in longer clips, while keeping the same generation speed. It also works across different styles and sits at the top of community leaderboards for text to video right now.

🔥 Our Take: AI video has been great at vibes and shaky at movement. This update goes after that directly with cleaner motion, better prompt control and more believable physics. It will not fix every janky shot, but if you are trying to use this stuff in real projects instead of just scrolling through demos, those are the right problems to push on.

ORBIT AWARDS

See who walked away with the crown

ICYMI yesterday: we announced the winners of the 2025 AI Dictation Orbit Awards. This first Orbit edition focused on real traction and tools that actually stuck in people’s routines, not just launch buzz. Wispr Flow, Willow Voice, MacWhisper, ITO, Alter, Aqua Voice, and Superwhisper all made the cut, so now’s a good time to see who walked away as the people’s champ and which ones you might want to pull into your own stack.

Kid ideas, instant stickers

Stickerbox is a kid-safe, voice-powered sticker maker. Kids speak an idea, it turns that into a black-and-white design, and prints it as a real sticker they can color, trade, and plaster on everything in sight. No phone needed, no camera, built-in safety filters, and a simple thermal printer that keeps it all offline and in their hands instead of on a screen.

🔥 Our Take: Kids already have enough glowing rectangles in their lives. Letting them say something ridiculous and then hold it as a physical sticker a few seconds later is a much better kind of “AI for kids” than yet another app.

For brains that wander off

FocusRoom is a calming, ADHD-friendly focus app that turns your work into guided space missions. Instead of a huge to do list, you pick one task, drop into a distraction free focus “universe”, and get on with it. Missions, streaks, gentle tracking and space ambience help you build actual focus habits without feeling like you joined productivity bootcamp.

🔥 Our Take: Productivity apps seem to come in two flavors: the ones that yell at you and the ones that bury you in options. This goes for something simpler. Pick one thing, give it your attention, and let the rest wait its turn. Not heroic, not intense, just realistic for a brain that likes to wander.
