Stop letting AI wreck drafts

gm legends, happy Friday.

Today’s lineup: an editor that treats your writing like a code review so you see every change before it lands, a scheduling agent that lives in your inbox and actually keeps your week under control, and a Mac helper that pops up like Spotlight and pulls your own docs and models into whatever app you’re using.

Pull requests for prose

doXmind is an AI editor that treats your doc like a repo. It reads the whole thing, suggests line-by-line edits in a diff view, and lets you accept or reject changes instead of waking up to a mystery rewrite. You can drop research into a knowledge base so it can actually cite sources, and it even works on mobile with swipe-to-accept editing.

🔥 Our Take: Letting AI loose on a draft and watching it maul your tone is brutal. Seeing clear diffs instead, with context and citations baked in, is much closer to how people actually like to edit. Same voice, same doc, just a very nerdy editor sitting next to you.

FROM THE FORUMS

$2k MRR, 228 days, no overnight anything

Wilson just shared what getting his SaaS to $2k MRR actually looked like. Ferndesk hit that mark after 228 days: 2 months to build something launchable, 3 months to $1k, another 2.5 to $2k.

He’s got ~40k followers and still spends 8–12 hours a day building, marketing, and talking to customers, and it’s still not fully profitable. The playbook is boring on purpose: every week they ship one core feature, make content around it, and push it through newsletter, socials, forums, and customer chats. Then repeat.

It’s basically a reminder that the “0 to 10k ain a weekend” screenshots are edge cases. If your graph looks more like Wilson’s grind than a rocket, you’re not behind.

Spotlight finally grows a brain

Fluent is a native macOS AI assistant that pops up like Spotlight in whatever app you are using. It grabs the text or window in front of you, runs your choice of cloud or local models, and now adds a built in RAG engine so it can learn your style, use your own docs, and stay in context without dragging you into a separate chat window.

🔥 Our Take: People keep comparing it to the version of Apple Intelligence they wish they had, and that is not totally wrong. The real win is having one fast panel that respects your shortcuts, runs on your keys, and appears in any text box without turning into a whole extra workspace. It feels less like installing a new toy and more like quietly upgrading the Mac you already live in all day.

Your calendar gets a brain

Meet Ting is an AI availability agent that lives in your email and texts. You CC it into threads, set a few rules, and it starts handling the boring bits: finding times, booking and rescheduling, chasing no shows, and sending pre call briefs. Over time it learns your patterns and goals, then nudges your week toward what you actually care about instead of whatever link hit your inbox.

🔥 Our Take: Calendar apps have spent years acting like passive mirrors for every random invite. This one is closer to a slightly bossy assistant that remembers your limits, protects focus time, and quietly stops you from turning every day into back to back calls. Uncomfortable for people pleasers, very handy for everyone else.
