This app is going viral with teens 👶
The App Store got a shiny new redesign and there's a new #1 app that's going viral with the teens. 👶
tbd is where your friends tell you what they really think, anonymously. But unlike similar apps of its kind, tbh is all about relentless positivity! 💕
Users can only communicate by exchanging compliments, which are sent via in-app polls. Adam Besvinick says: "One of my favorite parts of this app is that every question has a positive / funny vibe to it."
And that is exactly what tbh gets so right about anonymity: users aren't able to very easily bully people. That has been the downfall of similar apps like Secret (RIP) and Sarahah (which has fallen down from the Top Charts already).
tbh is also beautifully designed and has a fun gamification element to it that will make you want to keep answering. 😜📊
Fun Fact: The founders have chosen to remain anonymous themselves, but you can ask them anything here and they'll respond. 👥

Every app is updating 😱
Why is every single app updating this morning? Because iOS 11 is here! Apple's latest operating system will be ready to download for normals (non-developers) later today. If you're one of the lucky few hundred thousand with early access, share with the community what you think are the best iOS 11 features.
Here's what we read on the internets:
🔴 Screen Recording: At long last, Apple will allow you to record your own screen, a feature Android has had for years.
🐱 Animoji: The greatest innovation since the invention of the internet. Available when the iPhone X ships. We'll be waiting.
🕹 Control Center: Massive overhaul, with the ability to customize the toggles you really want/need. Just like Android.
📝 Notes App: Apples continues to improve the world's most popular default notes editor, bringing it closer to Evernote and Bear.
📸 Screenshots: Ability to immediately edit/markup screenshots before sharing it, similar to Instabug.
🗄 Files: A brand new standalone app to manage your files if Dropbox isn't working.
🤖 Text to Siri: Siri is getting a massive overhaul in an attempt to find product-market fit.
💵 Pay in iMessage: Like Venmo and Square Cash, but with the ability to include iMessage effects for urgency.
😮 ARKit: The coolest innovation since the invention of Animoji.
iOS and Android are copying the best things from each other as they begin to feel increasingly similar. “I don’t really think it matters what mobile OS you use these days. They are both really great.” says Fred Wilson. 🙏

How to be productive: Delete your email app 👀
Sheryl Sandberg was recently asked what's the #1 app she has on her phone (other than Facebook). Her answer: Headspace. Today the co-founder and CEO Rich Pierson is taking over the newsletter. 💌
---
When Andy and I co-founded Headspace in 2010, we knew we needed to get people to start taking care of their minds the way they take care of their bodies. I’d been working in advertising, and I burned out early on. Too much drinking, too much hard living, and I pretty much had a breakdown at 25. Meditation turned that around for me.
Meditation didn't just calm me down—it improved my relationships, my focus, and my productivity. Today, we help more than 17M people be more productive. When you're trying to help a busy mind stay on task, meditate.
These are my personal tips for maintaining a sense of balance:
1. Headspace: First things first when you’re trying to help a busy mind stay on task: meditate. Thoughts can do a lot of things: they can keep us awake, they can distract us, they can certainly upset us, but only if we let them. Meditation helps us to see thoughts for what they are: just thoughts.
2. Nike Training Club: Exercising may seem a funny way to get organized, but it can help keep endorphins high and frustration low.
3. Surfline: I try to surf a couple of times a week and knowing when and where to go is essential.
4. Time blocking: Essentially schedule a meeting… for no meetings. My Tuesday and Thursday mornings are blocked off every week. It’s become a habit now to use that time for creativity and focus.
5. Delete your email app: Bear with me on this one. I deleted email apps from my phone because there was this incessant need to check, and also to reply quickly. Deleting the apps and instead setting aside time to answer those emails thoughtfully was great not only for my relationships, but for my productivity.

For more productivity tips, read Rich's guest post on the Product Hunt blog. When we spoke, he mentioned that he doesn't use many apps, but would like to see which ones people use to be more productive. We thought you could help. 😸
Which apps do use to be more productive? Add them here.

Our new kitty mascot... and something new ⛵
For the past several weeks we've been beta testing a new suite of tools to help makers and startups build awesome products. We call it Ship.
Ship is useful for anyone building a product: pre-launch, at launch, and post-launch. After all, launching is not a one-time thing and building an engaged community is 🔑. During our beta period, awesome folks including Eric Ries, Casey Neistat, and larger companies like Shopify, used Ship to announce their upcoming product launches, collect emails from interested subscribers, and gather feedback from their audience.
We're opening access on a first-come, first-serve basis, so reserve your place in line now. If you'd like to skip the waitlist, sign up for one of the Pro plans and unlock additional super powers.
Questions or feedback? Join the Product Hunt discussion. We'd love to hear from you. 😸

LEAKED: Facebook’s new video chat app 😳🔥
This morning TNW’s Matt Navarra uncovered Facebook’s rumored video chat app, Bonfire. 🔥
Like Houseparty, open the app to instantly jump into a live video chat with friends. Unlike Houseparty, it includes ridiculous and silly Snapchat-like face filters.
While brand new, Bonfire essentially launched inside of Facebook Messenger late last year (#3 most upvoted product for the day). This is yet another example of Facebook’s unbundling strategy, using well-trafficked apps like Facebook proper and Messenger to test new ideas before splitting them out into independent apps.
What's next? A dedicated Facebook TV app to compete with YouTube? Add your predictions here. 🔮

Confirmed Apple Event Rumors 🍎
Happy holiday! Today's big Apple Event will take place at the new Steve Jobs Theater. Nothing is confirmed, other than no homescreen button, something called "Portrait Lighting", an LTE Apple Watch, a 4k Apple TV, Face ID (unlock via selfie), and the ability to send 3D animated emoji based on your facial expressions, called Animoji.
And one more thing, TBD. 🙇
It remains to be seen if Apple will shock the world and include an adapter when forcing iPhone users everywhere to switch to USB-C. You can get a magic cable that charges anything to mitigate the uncertainty.
The event starts at 10 a.m. PDT. Locate the nearest Safari browser early, or watch on the native Mac app made by a maker in the community from Brazil.

Best Apple product since the iPhone.
AirPods are dominating. "The best Apple product since the iPhone" says Naval Ravikant in his review, along with several community members. They also have a 98% customer satisfaction rating.
The only drawback of AirPods is battery life. You're going to need to carry around the charging case, otherwise you're a few hours away from wired headphones. Unthinkable. But now there's a solution. ✅
Pebble founder Eric Migicovsky is back on Kickstarter, with a slim iPhone charging case that charges your AirPods. The PodCase's 2500 mAh battery is enough for a full iPhone charge, or 40 AirPods charges, and will ship for the new iPhone 8 too. The early-bird price of $79 is also very reasonable.
We'll see if the PodCase beats Eric's previous campaigns, which include the #1 most funded Kickstarter for Pebble Time (and the #3 too).
P.S. Android users can enjoy the benefits AirPods! You may not have Siri... but hey, Naval suggests iPhone users disable Siri as a control mechanism in his review. 😜

14-year-old builds Tinder for News 📰💕
Alex is a 14-year-old maker from Ireland and has been learning to code for a year. He had an idea for a news app, which he's been building during the summer vacation weeks. On Sunday, he shared it with the Product Hunt community.
Alex's Tinder-style news app was Sunday's #1 product. 🏆
Swiipe News turns the day's headline into a game: swipe left to dismiss an article, swipe right to save it for later, and tap to read it. It feels like Tinder, where you control your own destiny. You can choose from over 50 news sources, and filter the headlines by emoji-based categories.
In his updated maker comment, Alex says that the positive reception by the community has inspired him to continue working on Swiipe and continue pursuing his new career. 🙏
