This has led to a lot of suggestions on the future of verification, including one very familiar method. 

Following Twitter's announcement of a $42k/month fee for API users, Microsoft will remove Twitter from its ad platform in a week. In response, Musk tweeted a lawsuit threat related to Microsoft’s allegedly illegal use of Twitter data for training.

If you’re wondering when GPT-5 will be announced, you can take a breath. It looks like it could be some time away. CEO Sam Altman, when addressing a crowd at MIT, said that GPT-5 isn’t a priority at the moment. Instead, they are focused on improving GPT-4.
