Remotion - Quick video chat with your remote team

Love the more presence-oriented take on video conferencing. Co-workers and I have often joked it'd be great to have a traffic light type signal above our workstations at work to know whether it was ok to initiate convo, and Remotion basically has that. Lower friction to have happenstance conversations if you want them, and an easy signal when you don't. 👍

One of the teams I know well has been using Remotion for a while. From the team: > As a remote team I want to still feel connected in real time to my colleagues. But video on all the time is actually pretty invasive for some people, and the tool will only work if everyone adopts it. My sales team absolutely loves using Remotion, remote work would not be the same without it! Shortly after transitioning to remote work our team began experiencing meeting fatigue. Our days were crammed with 1on1’s and team meetings through Zoom and we were struggling with staying on top of our daily tasks. This began affecting our performance, new hire onboarding, and most importantly our team culture! Luckily for us a bolt of lightning soon struck our desktops, better known as Remotion. My sales reps actually adopted Remotion before management. It would start with a quick slack, “hey do you have a sec to Remo?” One day following a team meeting on Zoom I noticed a group together on Remo shortly after. To my surprise they had begun working on a few action items following our meeting while ideas were fresh and people were available. Remotion helped bring them together. Our new hire cohorts have morning meetings to discuss yesterday’s progress, today's agenda, and to answer any questions from the days/week prior. One morning I am invited to an informal Remo hangout where my new hire cohort is having breakfast and coffee together just before our group meeting. Remotion helped bring them together. Remotion inspired me to delete recurring 1on1’s and to instead make myself “open to chat.” Sales reps are now more proactive with asking for help as well as staying connected to each other. It is inspiring for a team member that needs help to see a group of team members that are open to chatting and are there for them. The most common slack I receive now is "do you have a sec to Remo," and this is always more inviting than a 30 minute formal zoom meeting that is now clogging my calendar. I'm so glad to see this out in the public, it looks like such a useful tool. Unfortunately I'm a Linux user, but I'm looking forward to seeing the app make it over there. Thanks for not forgetting about us!

Very simple and straightforward! I've been using Remotion with my team of 7 people for a few days now and we all love it a lot.

is this the same as around.co rebranded? both seem like really interesting ideas and good execution, but very similar looking demos
