Hi everyone, Very excited to see ABBYY Business Card Reader on Product Hunt! A big thank you to @chrismessina for hunting us! At any business meeting, event or conference (for example, here at WWDC), a smart business card scanner becomes a real lifesaver. When you meet dozens of people every day, you need a smart and easy-to-use tool to digitize all the business cards, manage the new contacts and follow up on the conversations you had. After all, one of these conversations might completely change the future of your business or even your life! That is why we created BCR – for all of us not to miss out on any potential partnerships, opportunities, investments, collaborations, sales, insights and breakthroughs. Featured in The NYT, The Telegraph and on CNN, ABBYY BCR is an all-synced cross-device service – an iOS, watchOS and iMessage app, an Android app, and now a web client too, which we just launched on June 1. First and foremost, it is a convenient mobile scanner with accurate and fast text recognition of cards in 25 languages. Then, it is a contact manager allowing you to easily save and update important information about your business contacts, exchange digital cards in one tap, connect on social media and export lists to Excel and Salesforce. Lastly, in this capacity, BCR becomes your simple personal CRM solution essential for effective networking. Now with the introduction of the cloud-based web client, it’s even easier to edit cards, make notes, and work with contacts or, better yet, make them work for you. We absolutely love the Product Hunt community! Which is why we have prepared for each of you a free premium subscription to ABBYY Business Card Reader for 3 months. To activate the promo code, please follow this link https://bcr.app.link/bcrph on your smartphone (iOS or Android). We would be very grateful for your support, comments and questions! Have an amazing day, guys!

Will i see the images of cards i scanned in the web app?
Anna Koltsova
@david_yang1 thanks for question! Yes, of course, you can see front and back side of card as well as photo of owner, if it was added to contact in the BCR web app

Great product, awesome team. I like your product! Thanks guys, I use it every tech event! When will you support iOS 11? :-)
Anna Koltsova
@sharifulin nice to hear that, you make us happy! We will be as fast as possible to support iOS 11, I hope somewhere in the beginning of September we will do it, it's hot time for iOS developers....

Great product from a great company. Text Grabber was a life saver in college, now Business Card Reader will help me in my career? You deserve more upvotes.
Anna Koltsova
@amokrane_tamine thanks for your comment. Bcr is already 8 years old, so I believe that there are many people who use it and support us here.

Hi guys! Really nice product :) where can I find the list with supported languages?
Anna Koltsova
@sergey_sharov, thanks for vote and question. BCR supports 25 recognition languages, you can find them on abbyybcr.com in Language section or in AppStore product description!

best biz card reader experience is hands down that of evernote.
Anna Koltsova
@ourielohayon nice comment, thank you! Of course, evernote is great app for notes and it can do many other things, including business card scanning. As in any multi-function app, digitizing business cards is only one of thousand other scenarios. In our ABBYY BCR, we work hard on scenario that is directly related to working with business cards: digitization of the front and backside of card, data binding from the qr-code, convenient storage and quick search (including Spotlight), sending your own business card in return on the fly, export contact data to Salesforce CRM, Apple Watch and much more. If you do not work actively with business cards, then evernote - as online storage - is a very good choice. But if you actively use business cards, it is better to look at a specialized app, for example ABBYY BCR :-)

What distinguishes BCR from other similar applications on the market?
Igor Akimov
@svetlanabsh Thanks for the question! We have more recognition languages and always try to move forward with new iOS versions. We have an iMessage app, in which you can send you business card to a partner, convenient Apple Watch app to quickly search for added contacts, Spotlight search to quickly find contacts on device, two-sided import-export to your addressbook on device, so you don't need to worry about updating you contacts by hand. We definitely have one the quickest and easiest to use card reader on the market. We sometimes call it "rocket BCR" ) I think you'll love using it!
Andrei Bernovski
I've been using it for a while now - great! Except for white on black business cards :)
Anna Koltsova
@a_bernovski thanks for positive feedback! We are constantly working on OCR quality, so stay tuned, we have very extensive development plan.
Michael
@a_bernovski Thanks for your comment Andrei! I'm using the app a lot for my business needs, and never got a problem with white on black cards, even in a dark room. This may highly depend on the card design though.
Michael
@a_bernovski I use Business Card Reader on my iPhone 6, the app should work even better on newer devices with better camera.
Andrei Bernovski
@mshoubin quite possibly. Using with iPhone 6s. Don't get me wrong there's a lot to love about the app!
Stas Zhukovskiy
Awesome app, simply love it! saves a ton of time after every conference! I have 2 questions for the makers: 1) There's an option to share my business card, but I haven't actually used it yet. Does it work if the other person doesn't have BCR installed? 2) There's a Salesforce integration baked in that allows exporting fresh cards into the CRM, but what about a simple export into a spreadsheet? If I connect my GDrive account for example? Is that anywhere on the roadmap?
Michael
@stanislav_zhukovskiy Thanks for your warm words! I'll try to address your questions: 1) Yes, you can share you card with any other person. This is just e-mail message with business cards and all contact data attached. 2) There is an option to export contact to .csv file which can be easily opened as an Excel spreadsheet. Also, there is business cards synchronization, which works if you login to ABBYY Cloud within the app. Automatic export/sync with GDrive account is not available yet, but we have strong plans to further develop the app and this may be one of our priorities. We would be happy to deeper discuss your use case withd you, let's connect after a while and see what would be an ideal behaviour? Thanks again Stas!
Stas Zhukovskiy
@mshoubin thanks for your answers! fantastic news. Looking forward to that GDrive integration and would be happy to share the real work business case for this. I'll use the CSV file for now.
