Hey Product Hunt 👋
Ad Auris Co-Founder and CEO here!
Two years ago my co-founders and I launched Ad Auris with the mission to turn the web into audio. We found ourselves increasingly spending more time listening (👋 podcasts) than reading, and became frustrated that a majority of the web remained locked in written format.
We started by building a platform for publications, helping them generate audio versions of their written work. A few months ago, with over 70,000 people listening every month, we decided to take all of our learnings and create a new platform, for individuals .
From our experience with publications, we built this platform to let you do 3 things really well:
1. 🖱️Create audio with one click, it’s ridiculously easy and fast.
Copy & paste an article URL or text straight from a pdf or word document. Download the chrome extension, or add a pre-narrated story from top publications. So many ways to create audio in seconds!
2.👂Listen to the audio on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, or Google Podcasts, no need to download another app.
We recognize people don’t want another app to download, or another website to visit - so we made it easy to sync your playlist with your favourite podcast player. Audio is added instantly to your podcast, so you can listen on the go with ease.
3. 🗞️ Find great audio from publications like TechCrunch, New York Times and more.
We’ve pre-generated the audio for a number of top publications like TechCrunch, The Atlantic, NYTimes, and many more. As soon as you see something that catches your eye, add it to your playlist with a click.

I’m thrilled to announce the launch of Ad Auris Play. There is so much valuable information out there, and two years on, our mission remains the same: enabling the world to access information whenever and however they'd like.
We’re iterating every week, striving to obtain these goals, and we can’t do it without your feedback. Please comment how you would improve the tool!
Find an article → turn it into audio → listen on podcast.
That’s it. It’s that simple. Try it for free!
Happy Listening,
Logan, Tina, and Varun
At first I thought this was built to allow someone to publish their own podcast (made of articles) that others can listen to.
I realize this may come with copyright challenges, but curious if this is part of the roadmap or if that's even something people want. 🤔
@rrhoover that's a great point! We wanted to make it possible for everyone to have a private podcast filled with exactly the content they'd like to listen to , but we've been also working with publications to make their own podcasts!
You can check out the podcast from Tyee (a publication here in BC Canada) that we created for them:
https://open.spotify.com/show/0t...
Enabling better sharing of playlists and audio is definitely part of the roadmap! I'll keep you updated :D
@rrhoover with you and Miguel McKelvey, Eugene is punching above its weight :D
Any substacks or publications you regularly read? I'll make sure to add them to the list of ones we pre-narrate so it's extra easy to listen to them!
@florin_biro Them, dog-walkers, runners, commuters, and more :D

@florin_biro oh my god, whattt! I've been thinking about an app like this for my morning walks so I don't look like a goose trying to walk and read and still optimize time- Thanks for showing me this Biro!

@florin_biro would be amazing if could also read me all the newsletter I'm subscribed too
@florin_biro@jennifer_velazquez it will! I use it with all of the substacks I subscribe to and the ones with tricky formatting I just copy and paste the text in and create the audio :D

Listening rn, and it's singing in my ears. Very good conversions, not as robotic as I would have expected. Can't wait to try hooking this up to the Gutenberg archives.
