A user could publish chapter one, but not chapter two

A creator on AI MANGA successfully uploaded a first chapter, then asked us how to add the next one.

The upload itself worked. The problem was our mental model.

To create a series, the creator had to select “Series,” type a title, press a small “Create Series” button, and then select the series they had just created. Missing one step silently left the chapter as a standalone work.

We changed three things:

• made the series creation action clearer without turning it into a giant CTA

• added a screenshot-based publishing guide that explains both new and existing series

• clarified that uploading is not the same as publishing—the work becomes public only after the final action on its work page

The lesson for me: creator onboarding does not end when an upload succeeds. It ends when the publishing structure matches what the creator thinks they created.
