Why did I build alora? I built alora after going through a frustratingly familiar insurance experience myself. I moved apartments, needed renters insurance, filled out all my details, got a quote back, and immediately had more questions than answers: Is this price good? Are these limits right? What’s actually covered? Then came the usual routine: searching Reddit, reading articles, retyping all my information to get another quote, and trying to compare line items across carriers. It felt tedious, repetitive, and way more confusing than it should be. What makes that even worse: I’ve spent nearly a decade working in insurance. That’s what pushed me to start building alora — a centralized place for people and businesses to keep their insurance history, documents, and key details organized, so they can compare options, switch carriers, and get help without starting from scratch every time. This is the first step toward a much better insurance experience.

The "switch carriers without losing your progress" line is the most interesting claim here. What does that actually mean in practice? Is alora pulling live quote data from carriers, or is it more like a structured profile that you hand off to a new agent so they're not starting from scratch?
