Alt - Invest in sports cards just like stocks

Alt lets you treat your sports card collection as an investment portfolio. You can buy and sell pre-authenticated cards on our exchange and track the current market value for all your assets with our integrated portfolio management view.

Nice idea! How can I be notified if you ever do expand to include watches? ;)
Leore Avidar
@dr_dani We absolutely plan to move into watches. Join Alt and you will be notified when we do. You may just become hooked on sports cards in the meantime :)

Really interesting idea! Just to be clear you are investing in physical cards not digital copies?
Leore Avidar
@javier_sanchez_mejorada1 Thanks, Javier! Correct, all listings on Alt are physical cards stored securely in our Vault. This allows us to pre-authenticate every card and offer immediate transfer of ownership to your Alt portfolio after transaction. From your portfolio, you can easily view all your purchased cards which have been professionally photographed and add others! While you can outtake from the Vault at any time, many of our customers like the ability to view and share their collection digitally rather than keep them stored in the safety deposit box or in the attic.

@bavidar That is very interesting. So I am guessing I can add a card to the "stock market" at any point? If so who determines the value? If there is already a similar card in the system would the value go down?
Leore Avidar
@javier_sanchez_mejorada1 you can add cards to your portfolio at any time and Alt will assign a value to the card which is determined by our proprietary valuation model - sort of like a "Zestimate" for cards. Once cards are in your portfolio and in the vault, they can also be listed for sale on the exchange - this is a marketplace where you can list for a "buy it now" price or accept offers. You are also welcome to use the free portfolio management tools without listing cards for sale.

A very underrated area of opportunity. Will definitely be following the Alt team on their journey to prominence. Congrats on the launch!

@mata_mokwala thanks! Totally agree, Mata. Space has already heated up in just the last two months. Exciting times for collectors

Sounds great for the sport fans!

@oleksandr_pavlenko and increasingly more than that - culture (marvel and Pokemon cards) etc

I just went to my parent's place and brought back 1000's of MLB and NBA cards, this looks cool! Is this market hot? I feel like in 50 years I may look back and regret selling, but will definitely check the product out to test.
Leore Avidar
@ebesser Thanks, Evan. Looking forward to having you on the platform! With the increase in attention and value of sports cards and other alternative assets, growing interest in investing in diversified portfolios, and a few other factors, the sports card market is at an all time high. We're looking to bring more access and attention to these assets and by allowing people to invest in sports cards as easy as investing in stocks, we believe this will only increase demand and values over time.
Brian Nyeko
Will you offer this Globally(EU and US) or just the US?
Leore Avidar
@briannyeko Hi Brian, our portfolio management feature is available globally! Our Exchange is only open for purchases to customers with a US bank account for the time being, but anyone is welcome to browse :) Our Vault can receive international packages which allows customers to send their cards to us and sell on the Exchange. We currently do not support international shipping from the Vault but are planning to add that service soon.
