I cofounded and recently launched Rye - an eCommerce API that lets developers add new revenue streams for their products by adding eCommerce and checkout into any app or website. Ask me anything about Rye, entrepreneurship, eCommerce, and crypto. I'll be answering questions on Friday, the 14th of October!

What are some of the most exciting use cases/builds you envision Rye makes possible?
Justin Kan
@ryan_haraki any sort of new e-commerce modality: allow people to spin up new marketplaces in minutes, create their own creator link stores, make a twitch extension that allows creators to sell live, etc.

How should one manage to meet up vesting schedules for multiple early startups running concurrently?

Any advice for non-tech founder(s) whose techie(s) have all left a product without any prior stakeholders agreement. Should the non-tech cofounder(s) go ahead to develop the product with other techies who believe in the market opportunities for the product? What if the products gets significant traction, becomes highly profitable and tech founder(s) suddenly wants some shares in the company for building the prototype before the time they left the company?
Justin Kan
@richard_iwenor You should sort out them releasing any ownership claims before you invest further in the product.

Hey Justin! Thanks for taking the time to do this AMA. My question is kind of basic but where did the idea for Rye come from?
Justin Kan
@aaronoleary I wanted to create a marketplace in crypto and e-commerce is the biggest and made the most sense

What do you think about the Metaverse ? Is it as safe as engineers and investors say ?
Justin Kan
@sarah_lazri the metaverse is as safe as anything else online... I think the metaverse is already here: it's the games people are spending hours and hours on, it's twitter, it's discord. People are already living their lives online. The trend will continue.

Do you think the 24/7/365 broadcast will become popular? With edalt content, opportunities to meet in real life, etc. As I recall, that's where you started.
Justin Kan
@heruwim no one wants 24/7 broadcasts. People are only interesting for a few minutes a day. This is why Instagram Stories >> Justin.tv.

Hey Justin, My friend tried reaching out to Y and heard “crickets” , what are the best avenues for reaching out to Y? He invents the future at Google. www.GotWonder.com , is my friend’s new thing and it will make the web a safer place for kids.
Justin Kan
@joshua_logan just apply to YC. The beauty is you don't need to have any connection there.

Hi Justin, you've brought super exciting news! Just wondering if and how Sayollo's gComm embedded commerce can become a complementary to Rye! (or vise verse)
