This is an electron wrapper. Huge resource hog for little benefit imo but I suppose there are use cases for it. Stuff like this has been out for years though: https://github.com/jiahaog/nativ...

@duarteosrm Yeah, I don't get all the hype over this.

Super happy to be able to quickly turn core web apps I use, which aren't yet supported by Station, into their own MacOS apps! Time tracking, project planning + invoicing stays open all day, everyday, now it can just live as it's own app on my dock. Win.

Pros:

Made the very awesome web software I use for all my freelance time tracking, project planning and invoicing into a desktop app!

Cons:

None at this stage

Hi, First of all great product! And thank you! I have one question so far: Do you think you can integrate CSS modifiers (such as Dark Background and Light Text: https://addons.mozilla.org/fr/fi...) ?
Saleeh
@vtennero We will add in todo list, Thanks for your feedback.

I tried it on reddit dota 2 section. Convert it in a couple of minutes.

Just out of curiosity, i wanted to know how much memory it uses - around 390mb.

Pros:

Working as intended.

Cons:

it does use quite a lot of memory

Saleeh
Hey Alex, Thanks for using the product and the feedback, We'll spend more time to reduce the app-size
Michael Ball-Marian
@saleeh @alex_petre It seems to keep a service running even after you terminate the app, hogging memory even when you are not using the app?

It would be nice to be able to edit the title bar (completely, not just the name of the web) or include a menu

Pros:

It works very well!

Cons:

Greater editing permissions and options such as editing the title bar (completely, not just the name of the web) or including a menu

Sure, We'll try to add features like this in future, Glad you liked so far

Any way to change the Windows app icon once the program has downloaded? I accidentally made it a picture of a CryptoKitten.
Saleeh
@askdaylen Updating app is not supported now. But you can create a new app, ✌️🤞

Hi, thank you for the product. I tried it with my own website(https://parkcheol.teachable.com/) and it looks everything ok but got one problem. It doesn't display videos uploaded. I'm sure they play well because I hear voices from them but I don't see any images from the videos. Any ideas?
Saleeh
@park_chris We'll check and get back to you on this,

I tried it with my app, works fine on mac, but on Windows, Defender SmartScreen won't allow it to run. Any ideas?
Saleeh
@passatgt Can you please try to run as administrator user

If you are a mac user, go get Fluid. It has been turning websites into perfect apps for ages. Those apps are fast, reliable and small. Like 6 MB.

Pros:

Well, does, what it says.

Cons:

Did you see the size of the app?! 350 MB?! This is crazy much.

Saleeh
Thanks for checking out You are absolutely right, We can understand how 350MB feels in a mac 😢, But we are using electron for Linux and Windows, Along with that we'll definitely put some more effort to reduce the size of the app.

Very close to perfect, and probably the best of this kind I've tried so far. Biggest request is to allow tabs instead of open new windows. Imagine use cases like Google Docs, Dropbox Paper, etc where you could open a number of documents, tabs are much easier to manage than windows.
Saleeh
@bao_lei1 Thanks for you valuable feedback 👏 We'll work on this ✌️
