Having keenly watched the idea behind bugasura unraveling in the past few months, I’m excited for how it can help many with issue tracking in very effective way! Pradeep and team are pioneers in this area and I’m sure it will benefit the community immensely!

@_abhitweets Haha, Bugasura means a Bug-eating Asura (demon)! It’s wordplay. Borrowed from a demon named Bakasura in the Indian epic Mahabharata! It’s a cute, bug-eating demon :)

Hey, quick question. How is it better then Linear?
Pradeep Soundararajan
@niklas_raab Great question. Linear started great but to compete with Jira - loaded it with more and more features and ended up making it complex. Also, when they brought in deeper and deeper project management stuff - dev centricity that they held started slipping a bit. A lot of devs do love them no doubt. However, we are thinking different. How? Pretty much anyone who wants to build a bug and issue tracker must have certain features but we aren't thinking features. We are thinking what led them to do that. Let me give you an example. Public bug trackers: Some of our customers have two bug trackers within Bugasura. A public one - for their customers to report bugs and a private them for their internal in-sprint. They are building high trust with their customers giving them visibility into how things are moving. Internally, they synch and discuss what they want to and push out only those that are relevant to customers. This is also used by developers building for community where Github issues wasn't much helpful. Devs go back to coding faster: Devs like to code. Our vision is to bring them to the bug tracker for least time. Not make them spend more time here. They are better writing product code and writing unit tests. Our Github status automation takes care of devs changing bug status with magic code and the bugs get re-assigned to those who assigned it to devs in first place or a rule can be defined who it has be to assigned to. We are introducing audio notes where people can explain the bug better via voice because too much back and forth is killing for dev productivity. ... to begin with Are we in a direction that is interesting?
