Kava is a plant from certain pacific islands such as Vanuatu and Fiji. You grind up the roots of the plant and knead with water to extract kavalactones. Drinking this relaxes you and/or can be a social lubricant. It doesn't come with a hangover and despite old data and incorrect articles, does not harm your liver as much as alcohol does. Bula Buddy is a free iOS app for kava drinkers. You log your sessions, follow friends, like/comment, and rate locations (i.e. kava bars).
