Hi Product Hunt, I'm Alex, the solo developer behind Cadence.

I built Cadence because I needed it. I live with a chronic condition, so medication is part of my daily rhythm, and staying consistent is harder than it sounds: missed doses, forgotten refills and no clear picture of whether it's working.

Almost every medication app I tried wanted a subscription, and I really don't like subscriptions. Paying every month just to be reminded to take the medication that keeps me well never sat right with me. So Cadence works the other way: unlimited medications are free, and Pro is one payment that's yours for good. No subscription, no renewal date.

Since launch in February I've shipped 68 updates, and a lot of them started as an email from someone using it: reminders at any minute, not just on the hour, undo when you tap Taken by mistake, finished meds no longer asking for a refill, and plenty more.

What it does:

  • Reminders for any schedule: set times, set weekdays, every few hours and as needed

  • Critical Alerts that ring through Silent and Focus

  • Mark Taken, snooze or skip with a reason, straight from the reminder

  • Scan a prescription label to add a medication

  • Medication interaction warnings

  • Refill tracking with low-stock warnings

  • Time zone support for when you travel

  • Apple Watch app, widgets, Siri and Shortcuts

  • Log symptoms and daily reflections alongside your doses

  • Patterns and insights from your history, connected and synced with Apple Health so you can see how your doses line up with sleep, heart rate and more

  • Cycle tracking

  • Water tracking with a daily goal, synced to Apple Health

  • Appointments, plus a PDF report to take to your doctor

  • Caregiver sharing

  • Apple Health import and export, plus CSV export

  • Everything stays on your phone. No account.

It's in 16 languages and sits at a 4.8 average across 36 App Store ratings.

I'm really proud of what Cadence has become, and even prouder of the people using it. Every email, review and feature request has shaped it, and I'd love Product Hunt to be part of that too.

I read every message. If you take daily meds, what's the one thing every reminder app gets wrong?
