We all know it: The built in computer camera (Apple or otherwise) is garbage. And so are most webcams.
The back (or front) camera on my old iPhone7? Solid.
I reached out and begged to beta test this - it's been something I've been asking for PRIOR to covid - and it's implementation is solid for a 1.0.
Can't wait for the Windows versions. Can't wait for 2.0. But 1.0? Totally, TOTALLY usable.
@filmgeek Thanks so much for your kind words Jeff! Your guidance through the beta has been invaluable. 🙏

FYI, I just tested it with Telestream's Wirecast app (I use it to broadcast my podcast video each Wednesday). Seems to work fine with the beta app. Camo doesn't have it listed as a supported app on their site. It also works to directly broadcast live on YouTube. Good luck on the launch!
@shawnking Thanks Shawn! That's great to know, and I'll get the app and site updated to reflect that.

As @afit mentioned, I was brought in early to write about webcams and looking your best on a call, so I've been able to play with Camo from the beginning. I know this sounds like an obvious testimonial, but before Camo, the camera I'd been using was NOT the crappy one in the lid of my 16-inch MacBook Pro, but an EVEN MORE CRAPPY one built into an old Apple Thunderbolt Display that I use as my main monitor. You don't know what you've been willing to put up with until you see the light of something better.
Give Camo a try, and you'll be surprised at how much better your calls will look.
Hey Aidan, love this concept especially as a Mac user who likes to use his laptop in clamshell mode. Is it possible to make this available to 🇨🇦? Able to download on iOS but not Mac App Store...
@shaun_pepper Thanks Shaun! The macOS app isn't in the Mac App Store as we can't connect to the phone in the way we need with the restrictions it puts in place. We're hoping to solve that in the near future. In the meantime, you can get the macOS app from our site, linked above. Or the iOS app will let you AirDrop the macOS installer to your machine.

Very useful and practical.

love it. surprising what a difference it makes in video quality. What I'd love to see: support for taking audio from the phone as well... and for more stabilization (if you mount the phone to your laptop it will move quite a bit if you type or touch the track pad... solvable with a separate mount of course :)
@sfrancisatx Thanks Scott! ⚡️ We're knee-deep in audio support at present. It'll be a free update for all users. Stabilisation's on the list, too. We tend to recommend using a flexible arm or tripod mount for mounting the phone, but we're going to do more for clip-ons, too.

@afit awesome, thank you for the feedback, it's a good recommendation on tripod or mount, but i appreciate you looking at options to improve for clip-ons too!
