80 people upvoted this and I have no idea which of you would miss it if it vanished.

Which of these is you?

  1. Pre screen-share / demo panic: thirty windows, notifications armed, everyone waiting

  2. End of the day: shut everything so tomorrow starts clean

  3. Before gaming or a recording: free the machine

  4. Focus reset: close the tabs I've been "coming back to" for a week

  5. None. I upvoted because it looked neat and I won't use it

And the one I really want: if you looked and did NOT install, what stopped you? Closed source, telemetry, "I can just Cmd-Q", two clicks instead of one, no Spotify exception, SmartScreen warning, something else. Say it plainly. I would rather build the version you'd actually keep than defend this one.

If you did install it: what would you want spared? Music, terminal, Slack, the browser tab with the meeting link, nothing?

I upvoted but did not install yet. Closed source plus SmartScreen warning stopped me. Could you open source it and show what you track exactly

Fair — those are the two reasons I’d hesitate too.

On SmartScreen: the Windows builds are Authenticode-signed (Dragon Hedge Pty Ltd, via Certum). What you’re hitting is usually Microsoft’s reputation filter for a new publisher — it fades as more people install that version. Click More info → Run anyway for now; macOS is Developer ID signed + notarised.

On closed source: I’m not ready to open-source the whole app yet (still early), but I will publish a plain-English privacy note that lists exactly what leaves the machine. Today that’s only anonymous usage stats and crash reports — never your app list, never file contents, never keystrokes. If you’d want the source open before you’d install, tell me — that vote matters more than my preference.

Could you add panic mode that mutes notifications and kills everything except browser.

Yes — and muting notifications with it is a great idea. When you hit panic, you don’t just want apps gone; you want the noise to stop too.

So the mode would be: close everything except your browser, and mute notifications.

Would “browser only” be enough for you, or should it also leave one more app open (like music or Slack)?
