ChatInbox - Email that groups your inbox by contact

by•
ChatInbox rebuilds the inbox around people instead of time. Every customer, vendor or friend becomes one conversation: full history, every file, whose turn it is. That is CRM-grade context inside your mailbox, across Gmail, Outlook, iCloud and any IMAP account, with newsletters and receipts filed into Feeds automatically. Three years of iteration, native on Mac, iPhone and iPad. Apple Intelligence powers drafting, summaries and triage on-device, so your mail never leaves your devices.

Hi Product Hunt 👋 I'm Nathan, the maker of ChatInbox. A few of my friends run small businesses, and their day is email: dozens of customers and vendors, quotes going out, invoices coming in, delivery dates changing. One of them runs a small import business with about forty customers and a dozen suppliers. In a time-sorted inbox, a supplier's revised quote from Tuesday is buried under two hundred newer messages by Friday. He would search, open three threads, and still miss the attachment. So he paid for a CRM just to remember where things stood with each person, and spent evenings copying notes and files from one app to the other. That felt backwards. The mailbox already holds every message, file and promise; it just throws the context away by sorting on time. So the question became: what if the inbox were organized by person, and the CRM-style context lived natively inside it? The problems I set out to fix - Every message and file from a customer or vendor should be one scroll away, not a search away. - Whose turn it is, yours or theirs, should be visible without rereading the whole thread. - Newsletters, receipts and alerts should never bury the people you do business with. - You should not need a second app to remember your relationships. Version one simply grouped mail by sender. Two things followed quickly. Half the "people" in an inbox are not people, so I built Feeds, an on-device classifier that files newsletters, receipts and alerts away automatically. And a person's conversation can hold many threads, so each thread became a card you can collapse or expand. Then came the CRM pieces, built into the mailbox rather than beside it: a "where things stand" panel next to every conversation with what's your turn, what you're waiting on and what's next; tags on a Kanban board to move quotes and deals from To Do to Done; reminders on any message; every file a person ever sent you, grouped by person; and related contacts such as airlines, hotels and shops grouped automatically. Three years and hundreds of builds later, it is native on Mac, iPhone and iPad, in 29 languages. AI came last, and only on my terms: drafting, summaries and triage run on-device with Apple Intelligence. Your mail talks directly to your mail server, tracking pixels are blocked by default, and there are no ChatInbox servers in the middle. It's free on the App Store with one account. Premium unlocks unlimited accounts and everything else, as a monthly or yearly subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase. If you run a business from your inbox, I'd especially love to hear what your CRM does that your mailbox should. I'll be here all day answering questions.

This is pretty cool. I think that Crisp is lacking this because it opens a new ticket when someone starts a conversation in a different email thread. Are you aming for B2B as well?

I like the idea of organizing emails by people instead of dates. That sounds much easier to manage.
