I'm Astroah, the solo maker behind Cherinity. 🐶❤️
What inspired me? My own Maltese – watching him zoom around the house or nap like the world owes him nothing, I always wondered, "What is he really thinking right now?" 😄 Most pet apps let you upload cute pics, but they stop at the surface. I wanted to go deeper – give pets a "voice" and turn everyday moments into fun, shareable stories that make people smile and connect.
The problem I was solving: Pet lovers share tons of content, but it often feels one-way. Cherinity adds that magical layer with AI subtitles that imagine your pet's inner monologue (in a cute, humorous way). It turns a simple photo into something hilarious and relatable, sparking more comments, likes, and real conversations in the community.
Process-wise: Started as a simple photo-sharing idea during late-night coding sessions with my dog snoring next to me. Then I experimented with AI (fun prompt engineering for pet personalities!), iterated on the UI to make it super cozy and intuitive, and focused on making posting feel effortless so people actually use it daily.

One small thing I noticed: sometimes longer captions can feel a bit cramped in the feed view. A slight tweak in spacing or truncation could make the “voice” pop even more and feel instantly readable.

We’re currently exploring two possible refinements:
– shorter default preview captions (smarter truncation)
– or expandable captions with lighter spacing
From your perspective, would better spacing solve most of it, or is smarter truncation the bigger win?
