Claude 2 has improved performance, longer responses, and can be accessed via API as well as the web. Think of Claude as a friendly, enthusiastic colleague or personal assistant who can be instructed in natural language to help you with many tasks.

Here's one thing that sets Claude apart from OpenAI's ChatGPT: Users can input up to 100K tokens in each prompt, which means that Claude can work over hundreds of pages of technical documentation or even a book. Claude can now also write longer documents - from memos to letters to stories up to a few thousand tokens - all in one go.

@chrismessina 100k tokens seem amazing! question, if i import and ask it to read a book of 100 tokens, it'll remember this book so I can reuse it in the future, correct?

@josooba_at_fabrie yep. If it doesn't exceed 100k tokens, it will remember the book and be able to refer to any point in between or compile any kind of information regarding your question.

Is there an available API not a waitlist yet? I know folks who have gotten GPT-4 32K access on different emails, yet haven’t received an email back from Anthropic for months on end. The Claude models are definitely a step-up when dealing with literature; though the moderation seems to be getting worse than OpenAI’s heavy guidelines that effectively block-in thinking styles. Hopes sit with the idea that commercial innovation of this year will be open-source of next year if not sooner.

As someone using LLMs in production, I am really excited to try this out. More viable options mean a healthier ecosystem. Congrats on the launch, team! Couple of questions: - Apart from the increased context length, are there other high-level differences that set this apart from ChatGPT/GPT-4 and similar models? - Increase in context length can lead to increase in inference time and based on my experience, output quality. How should someone think about working with Claude 2's large context window then?
