My team is distributed across multiple time zones which has made video calls & screensharing very important. Obviously, not every conversation needs to involve everyone so Iām curious if you offer additional teams support. Also, as our team grows and we need more seats what kind of per seat costs should I expect to pay?
Impressed so far!
@joshuaemert Thanks! Yes - teams is something we were excited to tackle, since we're distributed. No seat fees, to knock that off the list. Daily for Teams is free ā no host fees, no seat fees, no meeting time limits. (We have a separate, paying conference room hardware product, which we launched on Product Hunt last year.) Seat licenses are a pain for video calling. They're a headache for admin. They're a headache for users - some of us have been at orgs where there was a limited number of seat licenses, so only a certain number of people could be using the software at a time. Not great if you can't do a demo or support call cause someone else is using the license. Daily frees you up from that. No scaling headache.
In your Daily teams dashboard, any invited teammate can create rooms on the URL. (No admin involved.) That branded, shared URL is key. Team Gringotts might have gringotts-hq.daily.co/ops, gringotts-hq.daily.co/accounting, gringotts-hq.daily.co/dev. All these meeting rooms have our features - 50 person calls, international dial-in, dual screen sharing.
The goal was to have simple, powerful meetings, that your entire team can customize, in seconds. Hope that helps - ping us if you have any feature requests for your team!
We love Pluot at Koan and are excited about the new Daily launch! One of our favorite features is auto-connected rooms ā this makes our daily stand ups super efficient for remote folks.
If this can solve the curse of video calls, and general mass-sync-real-time-comms (MSRTC?) then this will be my most favourite thing, ever. Looking forward to giving it a test.
Been using Daily for the last few weeks and love it. Super simple to join and works every time. No more waiting for the other person to download a desktop app or chrome extension.
Wondering if you'll be able to do mouse & keyboard takeover for troubleshooting via browser?
@alextapper Hi. Thanks for the kind words about Daily. Unfortunately, we can't do mouse/keyboard takeover inside our browser-only (no download) solution. We would have to make a downloadable version of Daily for that. Is mouse/keyboard remote control something you'd use a lot?
@kkdub If you're nervous, you can always pay for our Pluot TV hardware, which is an inexpensive, zero administration, appliance for your conference rooms. $50/month for screen sharing and Daily meetings on your TV! :-) Seriously, though, charging for the hardware is what makes it possible for us to have the software be free.
