The very first all-in-one Clubhouse management platform:
The MVP version of Direcon is designed to solve the urgent problems of people who moderate rooms on Clubhouse like lack of insights about their rooms and limited moderation options.
Hi! Great product, and thanks for building this. Out of curiosity,
how can this work when Clubhouse does not have an official API?
I'm worried this product might be using the recently reverse-engineered API (https://github.com/stypr/clubhou...…) or some flavor of it. I hope this is not the case because the author of this code says,
"Please note that you may get a permanent ban for sending invalid API requests. Server's rate limit and security mechanisms are quite strict."
Since we are logging into our personal CH accounts to use this, we are potentially at risk for a permanent ban if Clubhouse changes even a single parameter of their internal API causing your service's requests to fail.
From what I see, the metrics captured are awesome, and this would be an incredible product for moderators. I just really hope the app is built on stable footing and doesn't put us as users at risk.
How can I be sure this is safe to use for my account from Clubhouse's standpoint?
@tim_carambat
Hey Tim,
Thanks for mentioning it. Since Clubhouse is a new platform, they unfortunately don't have a public API yet. We have listened to all of the Townhalls that took place since we joined the platform and it looks like a public API is not something they will launch soon. So just like what Tweetdeck did for Twitter, we didn't want to wait and we built our product without the public API. But while doing that, we restrict our platform to people who moderate a room on Clubhouse to avoid unwelcomed activities.
We are a team who worked with Twitter's and Instagram's public API's for the last 5 years and we tried to develop features which we believe will be supported by the public API Clubhouse will eventually release. Therefore we are waiting for the day they release it and we will immediately switch to it when it's live.
Regarding the risk of parameter changes, we have a health check system in place that will stop our operations if anything changes.
@tim_carambat@kaanayaz_ very interesting. We have also been thinking about these features as we started clubhype.io back in January but stopped because we thought it makes no sense to "hack" it until there is an official API, let alone ask for funding and try to get people to pay for something which is based on reverse engineering and can be shut down every moment.
@sushburakunver Can you explain the point "We have already raised a seed round to grow our team and be able to develop the features in our roadmap faster." a little bit further? How can you raise for something based on no official API and hire people based on the idea that the API will allow all of that?
@tim_carambat@sushburakunver@serglotz Hey Sergej, interesting comment 🧐 First of all, you don't invest in products, you invest in companies and teams. I think this will answer your second question.
So, about the technology we used, we are the team who have informed the Clubhouse team about the vulnerability of their Agora integration and helped them to fix it before it's published on articles. We're trying to be transparent on our approach as much as we can, so if you spent a time on our website you will notice that we are not trying to harm CH, yet we try to help their power users just like Tweetdeck did for Twitter.
@kaanayaz_@sushburakunver@serglotz We had the very same thought at Host Notes. We know that Clubhouse is moving fast internally so trying to build against a black box, and certainly not a sanctioned one, could have proved problematic for our users if they get banned because we were proxying them and made even a minor mistake. I am sure all of us are aware that Clubhouse can change anything at any time and make 3rd party applications totally unable to function - its the risk we take I suppose.
@kaanayaz_ my intention was not to proclaim you were using some particular code base to provide your platform service as if the work was not original. I fully can recognize that Direcon totally built something novel and authentic that was a signifiant undertaking (and certainly needed by the community), but was more to a point that this is not a Clubhouse sanctioned integration and I think those risks should be disclosed to users somewhere. I understand you took great care for failsafes and protecting your user accounts, but rate limit watching is very hard to proactively protect against since the API does not provide a rate return response, since its only meant to be used internally. That is all I was trying to convey. Should I moderate a room with 2K+ concurrent users I think I could trip an alarm with that many requests?
Can I ask what is the largest rooms you know this platform has been used with?
Hello ProductHunt,
Hope you’re all healthy and safe during these hard days.
We are really proud to introduce you the very first all-in-one Clubhouse management platform.
Here at Direcon, we aim to become a power tool for Clubhouse’s power users just like what Buffer did for Instagram or TweetDeck did for Twitter. Therefore, we only let our users to use Direcon if they are moderator in a room to avoid them performing activities that could be unwelcomed by Clubhouse.
The MVP version of Direcon is designed to solve the urgent problems of people who moderate rooms on Clubhouse like lack of insights about their rooms and limited moderation options.
We have already raised a seed round to grow our team and be able to develop the features in our roadmap faster. With the upcoming features, we would like to accelerate influencer marketing being a thing for Clubhouse as well which we believe this will help on brands, Clubhouse influencers and Clubhouse itself on their growth.

- Total unique listeners have joined the room
- Total time listened

If that sounds interesting to you, we invite you all to try Direcon for free.
Please keep in mind that the first version of Direcon has been built in just 3 weeks and this is just a beginning. Therefore, any feedback are welcomed but we have a strict rule when it comes to building a new feature; Direcon will never provide scam services like many other businesses do for other social media platforms.
If you have any questions or feedback, please feel free to reach us at sush[at]direcon.com
We wish you a great week!

Report
@sushburakunver@daryllman apparently clubhouse has fixed the issue with their auth token generation, so this doesn’t work again
I'm using the closed beta for 2 weeks and Direcon is spectacular! It's very useful for people who hold Clubhouse events regularly. I'm holding such events on Tuesdays and Fridays, this tool gives me great insight who I should invite to my next event and what type of stuff we should talk in our events. Thanks, guys! Congrats on the launch! (my Clubhouse is @fatih )
Great product! This is what makes clubhouse whole. These days data matters more than ever and clubhouse is promising for future. Direcon is about to be where data and clubhouse meets! Congrats ?makers for such a good job.
