Building DropShare as a solo developer — why is file sharing still so complicated?

Hey everyone 👋

I’m the solo developer behind DropShare, a chat-based file sharing tool that works in any browser.

I started building this because I kept running into the same problem:

sharing files between devices is still more complicated than it should be.

AirDrop doesn’t always work, cloud upload is slow, and most tools require accounts or setup.

So I asked myself:

what if file sharing could feel like sending a message?

That’s how DropShare started — turning file transfer into a simple chat experience, with support for HTTP, WebDAV, FTP, and SFTP.
