This is exactly the kind of thing that is missing in language learning audio content — there are countless podcasts aimed at teaching languages, but most of them are just a couple people practicing various phrases devoid of context. Otherwise, there may be native language podcasts but they're far too fast and complicated for a learner to follow. I can see this bridging that gap very nicely. One of those aha products that seems so obvious in hindsight. Looking forward to trying it out and for other languages to be added. This and the other contextual learning products Duolingo has been trying out recently (e.g. Stories, chat bots, events) is showing some really encouraging education innovation is going on at Duolingo. Because honestly, the main Duolingo experience (i.e. the skill tree) gets pretty dry and repetitive, and on its own is not very effective at learning a language.

@jckmgn Interesting how it switches between English and Spanish, helps you follow along with the story even if you get lost in the Spanish bits… plus I guess that makes it double as a tool for Spanish speakers who are learning English (very clever) The transcripts are online, but they're on Medium… Would be cool if the transcripts were hosted on Duolingo directly and you could use Duolingo's translation tools to hover over words you have problems with. Even better would be the ability to play bits of audio over again by clicking the corresponding sentences, and to automatically follow along with the transcript when the whole episode is playing online.
