The most dangerous AI output is the one you already agree with

The AI output most likely to go unchecked is the one that confirms what your team already believes.

When a model produces an unexpected result, people investigate. They check the data, the assumptions, and the pipeline.

When it produces the number everyone hoped for, they sign off.

That's how unverified AI enters a business: not through obvious failures, but through results that confirm existing expectations.

And passing a test doesn't mean a model will perform just as well next quarter. Customer behavior may change. Interest rates may shift. Market conditions may move beyond anything the model encountered during training.

A validation score tells you how a model performed under specific conditions. It doesn't guarantee what happens when those conditions change.

For finance teams, the discipline is simple but uncomfortable:

The output you agree with deserves the same scrutiny as the one you question.

How do you prevent confirmation bias from turning a plausible AI output into an unquestioned business decision?
