It doesn’t matter what type of app you’re building, what language you’re programming in, or what OS you’re on: when you need to collaborate, Live Share will instantly share your project with a teammate. Edit and debug together in real time without teammates needing to clone a repo or set up their environment.

Visual studio is really stepping up their game. I hated learning to use visual studio initially.
They are getting so much better lately.

I have been saying this time and again but I'll never stop saying it. Microsoft please keep doing what you're doing especially with VSCode and all the recent open source contributions.

If the command palette's behavior is figured out to unlock full potential, I strongly believe that post this, there is no way any other IDE can even come remotely close to competing with this.
Pros:
Brilliant, intuitive, fast, and extremely handy for cross-team collaboration.
I simply cannot stress on how amazing this is.
Cons:
The command palette feels limited on shared session. Given how powerful VSCode is subject to usage of commands & extensions, bit of a blip.

Been using since the private beta and it's been amazing tool for distributed teams.
Pros:
Remote pair programming! 🎉
Cons:
Can we please get Skype integration? Also, the UI integration for launching/managing sessions could be improved. But a great start!

How are commits split between pair programmers?

Visual studio live share is a great tool for conducting interviews remotely. Given the nature of the workforce today where local talent is harder and harder to find, it is important to have a good way of communicating with and interviewing remote candidates. Using live share is better than regular screen sharing because I can write and select code in the panel for the candidate. It's also not subject to poor connection quality like regular screen sharing as it is sending significantly less data over the wire.
