Often people share various videos or news assuming they are real. Real or Fake is a community effort to flag news or videos as fake or real based on their information. You can also add your own news and let people help you find out whether it is fake or real.

A month ago I saw a video of Russian tank driving over Ukrainian civilian car, I was shocked. I decided that the world should see the horrible actions of Russian army and shared the video on Instagram. The video went viral and got thousands of views. After some time I started getting messages saying that this is fake and that the tank is Ukrainian not Russian. I tried to google it but didn't find any answers for certain. That is when I decided to create Fake or Real. This product is a community effort to help identify what is fake and what is real. Hopefully it will connect people with their expertise and knowledge and help identify fakes.

One thing I would like to know. What would prevent any pro Putin supporter to access this site to help further their propaganda by voting on clips that they deemed useful?

@maria_gl that is true, it would not stop putin supporter to access the site. But simply voting is not enough, they have to explain why the news are fake or real, if they can not provide a reasonable explanation then their vote doesn't mean anything.

I saw the same video, and then days later saw the same incident from a completely different angle and it showed that the incident that went around the world's media was only a small part of an even bigger, far more brutal ambush that happened just off-camera involving a truck and the tank. The evidence is out there, you just have to dig for it. Like I said, the tank running over the car video, is only one angle and there are other videos of it giving a different perspective of what was happening.
