AWS has been too intimidating and tedious, causing teams to settle for a simplistic black box PaaS or hiring devops too early. But no more! π πΌ
Our Developer-first AWS infrastructure enables you to use the best AWS services with the easiest possible setup.
The Flightcontrol team is fantastic. We needed to quickly reduce our infra bill due to rapidly rising costs on a free product we offered.
In addition to having great docs for self service, the team worked with us 1:1 to move a large production service into AWS.
In the last several months, the only time I've had to think about the Flightcontrol infra is when they dropped our bill by 90% after changing pricing models.
@zsebag it is been our pleasure working with you Zach. Thanks for your kind words.

Hey guys, congrats on the launch and loving the UI on the first glance already! And they look more interesting as I get in. Some questions off the top of my head
1. Are your target audiences small to mid size organizations, or would Flightcontrol be suited for larger orgs too?
2. How do you choose which AWS service to support?
3. How does this differ from AWS console? If I understood it correctly, Flightcontrol is focused on making a more abstracted + simplified view?
4. Can we tweak all the knobs that are available on AWS via Flightcontrol?
5. How do you deal with InfoSec compliance ie Soc2?
Thanks guys :)
@weichunnn Thanks!
We have users from new startups to Series H companies. Many times companies will choose us at the start, or as they scale and are starting to need devops but don't want to hire .
> How do you choose which AWS service to support?
Started with the most common, basic services like Fargate servers and RDS databases. Will continue adding them based on user demand.
> How does this differ from AWS console? If I understood it correctly, Flightcontrol is focused on making a more abstracted + simplified view?
It's a bit hard to compare, we have some AWS console functionality, some infrastructure-as-code functionality, and some new things. So I would describe it as a much simpler interface to AWS that doesn't restrict or limit you like traditional PaaS
> Can we tweak all the knobs that are available on AWS via Flightcontrol?
Not yet, but in the meantime you can tweak all them in AWS directly
> How do you deal with InfoSec compliance ie Soc2?
Don't have this yet, but have a plan in place to get it quickly.

Congratulations to the team for this awesome launch. AWS became sooo easy to use and understand after I first used Flightcontrol.
Out of the box we could deploy 100% of all services in my infrastructure.
Amazing redesign and great user experience !
Congrats on the v2 launch! This is a great product to learn about. I was tempted by Vercel and similar platforms, but decided to build on AWS myself (since I was familiar with it). Your product would have been the perfect solution for me, so I could avoid the lock-in and markups of those platform vendors, yet get the ease of deployment and scaling that your platform seems to offer. It will be at the top of my list for future projects!
AWS made easy, nice one! π
The product looks really good, and Iβll definitely give it a go when the opportunity comes. Congratulations on the launch! π
@quinnzeda thanks! A few years ago I was building an app that should have been using native AWS services. I tried, but it was too hard. So I ended up on Vercel with a Frankenstein collection of third-party services. It worked ok until I accidentally racked up a $6,000 bill π¬ That was my fault, but the rickety setup of callbacks and lambda chains made it much easier to fail.
So I thought, why canβt I have a great developer experience on my own AWS account?! Then I met Mina who has been using AWS since S3 & EC2 were all they had. He had the same vision of a better cloud, so we joined forces and the rest is history!
We got initial traction from my twitter followers and the Blitz.js community (previous OSS project I made)

Congrats team on the launch and good luck!
I'll certainly take a closer look at your product and am excited to see how it has evolved in v2.
