Hi, Focusmate community
Focusmate helped get to the best university programme in economics in my country. I am sure I wouldn't be enrolled without the help of more the 1500 Focusmate partners I had. I am very grateful.
BUT since the start of the war in Ukraine I can't pay for Focusmate because I grew up and live in Russia. I would be very happy if I Focusmate included payment methods that are accessible for people in my country.
That being said, even with all the problems with the payment, I am deeply grateful for the simple fact that Focusmate didn't abandon its users here and stayed with us in the most difficult times as situation here for ordinary citizens is very depressing.

A feature I would appreciate is pre-written chat messages. Often, I'm doing desk work, but will get called into a virtual meeting while on FocusMate and I would love to click a pre-written message to easily tell my FocusMate that I won't be able to have a post-session chat.
Focusmate has been my work bestie since I joined. It has saved me from bouts of every kind of emotion that would otherwise render me immobile when I need to work. It has gone with me through the hardest of jobs and even the most mundane tasks. I'm so glad to be part of a community where we all want to support each other.

I think the upgrades are great. I had created a Favorites availability workaround but your update is better. Glad to see the desk work, exercise preferences are coming for those who have those preferences.
Can I get a "To-do List" integration or native? Something I can update during my sessions will be great.

@cynicus_me this is a very highly requested feature (as you might have seen in these comments)--and is absolutely on our radar.

I like the idea of preferential matching, but I'd also like the reverse: sometimes one of my favorites has to cancel on me, and I don't want to be matched with a random person. It would be nice if I could choose that a session scheduled with a favorite just gets totally cancelled if one of us cancels.
Also, often I have a bunch of sessions back to back with the same person. Sometimes we lose track of time and don't switch to the new session ASAP -- it would be great if a) there were more obvious reminders before you get kicked off at the 1:30 mark, and b) focusmate didn't temp lock my account if I don't join the next session with the same person on time, especially if we're both still in the previous session!

@lvs Thank you for those ideas. I especially appreciate your sharing the specific use cases!

Focusmate has had such an inconceivably enormous and positive impact on my life these past three years. I'm so thankful to everyone who has contributed to (and everyone who uses) the platform! It has served me as well on day one as it did today. My hopes for Focusmate are 1) far above all else, for it to be able to persist indefinitely and 2) to reach even more people who will love it. π

Hi team, just an overnight thought... I am bilingual but I sense that many colleagues / friends of mine are avoiding using the platform because of the language barrier. Would it be possible to signal one person's language barriers, and switch to chat only if / when the person is not confortable with an English conversation?

I really like Focusmate.
Here are a few things that would make it even better:
1. Audio reminders at more points prior to the session if I haven't joined
2. The opportunity to set your intention for the session he writing ahead of time so it's easier to say yes I've done it or no I haven't.
3. Gamification and streaks based on successfully completed activities mentioned in 2 and on-time sessions

Hi I'd love to have the option to show my session goal with my partner, and the ability to have it show on my calendar, It helps to visualize all the goals at a glance on my calendar, and prompts my partner to keep me accountable, even without audio.
A checkmark at the end of the session on whether or not the goal has been achieved (or a percentage) would be great to keep track of how realistic my goal setting is.
Overall, love focusmate!
