Franz 2.0 - Desktop app for Slack, WhatsApp, Skype, Telegram, Messenger

Franz 2.0 is a desktop app that puts messaging services altogether in one place. It can combine apps like WhatsApp, Slack, Facebook Messenger, WeChat, HipChat, Skype and a lot more. You can even use multiple accounts for the Facebook Messenger - mix your business profiles and your private ones if you need to.

This coupled with proper videochats from appear.in, Skype and a few others would make this not just a killer app, but a terminator app.

Pros:

Unbelievably small memory footprint. Extra layer for messaging app notifications. Simply superb.

Cons:

If only SMS and iMessage were available.

small memory footprint?! 😃 Over 1 GB !!!

I like the idea of having one desktop app for all my messaging needs. This one is pretty good because it includes two big ones for me: FB Messanger and Whatsapp. It'd be perfect if it had IMessage too.

Pros:

It works well with Messanger and Whatsapp

Cons:

It doesn't include Imessage and I use an app called GroupMe which is on their list but it doesn't work

真的没有什么卵用,与其用这个,不如用Chrome,再固定几个常用聊天工具的tab标签页,配合bookmarks,extension,相差无几。

Pros:

none

Cons:

1. 用Electron包装的浏览器,但凡使用Electron的,应用的体积都不会小

2. 整合各个聊天工具的web版,web版的体验相对肯定没有app好,例如:微信

Never check all applications for whether inboxed or not. These apps like Station and Stack that curate applications and localize that desktop app increase recently. The app does not give notifications from the applications involved.

Pros:

All-in-one management communication

Cons:

No support for Japanese tools like ChatWork and LINE

Would not recommend! Lack of support, no answer to emails. After last update services do not load, tried everything. Before was slow and had bugs...and too long to correct them. But mainly, it doesn´t work now, and customer support is inexistent. Much rather pay for a service that works and that values customers.

Pros:

Nothing. Doesn´t work

Cons:

Doesn´t work. No customer support.

Please take the time stamp away from the notification (on windows). Its always looks like its part of the content and the person said the time. Its a little annoying.

@obaidr thanks for your feedback, what windows version are you using?

I have no idea how Telegram works with developers of third party clients, but it has been my understanding that they're pretty open and the large majority of their feature set is available to tap into. With that said, is it possible to support Telegram's "secret chats" feature in Franz?
Stefan Malzner
@bleachedsleet we currently use their webinterface, as soon as they officially integrate secret chats you'll have it in Franz.

Just a suggestion for a future version- can muted chats/groups not add to the messenger integration's notification badge? Thanks in advance, Franz is a great tool :)
Stefan Malzner
@jackcook36 thanks for your feedback, this is already on our list and will come soon.

Seems to be fairly processor intensive though, seems to try and hog memory like Chrome. I'm assuming it's based on Chromium.
Stefan Malzner
@lewislebentz it is based on Chromium but we will start with cpu/memory optimization soon

this is a great product --- reminds me of meebo from back in the day --- things get fragmented and then come together with a consolidation like this --- cool!
Stefan Malzner
@samir_doshi thanks 😊
