Hey everyone! Ryan here, maker of FreeCustomResumes.com 👋 I built this because I was tired of the bait-and-switch every resume builder pulls — you spend 30 minutes perfecting your resume, then get hit with a paywall to download your own PDF. That felt wrong. So I built the opposite. Your PDF export is free, forever, no watermark, no "premium unlock." The AI features are free too — paste a weak bullet point and it rewrites it with real metrics and impact. A few things I'm proud of: The AI preserves whatever language your resume is in. Writing in Spanish? Portuguese? Hindi? It rewrites in that language, not English. You can drag-drop your LinkedIn PDF and it parses the whole thing in seconds. 22 themes designed to actually pass ATS systems (not just look pretty in a screenshot). We built 11 free mini-tools (summary generator, skills extractor, etc.) that work without even signing up. The premium side is simple: 4 themes are free, 18 are paid ($3–$25, one-time, own forever). That's it. No subscriptions, no per-download fees. Would love your feedback — especially on the AI rewriting and the theme designs. What would make you switch from whatever you're using today?

Hey Ryan,

Really like this idea - you have the monetization strategy dialed in. Too many of these types of things want a subscription which to me is misaligned incentives (company wants you to keep needing their services, but when the service is helping find a job that seems like something you'd want to just be a pay-per-use and stop when needed).

When I've used these in the past the subscription was what frustrated me the most, so I think I'd be more inclined to try something like this.

I'm sure you have more specialized tools available than the standard AI models, so I'm curious: What makes your product stand out than uploading to another AI tool?

Also, do you have any features that let users link/upload a job spec to tailor the resume to that application?

Again, really love this and as a former serial job-hopper I would have loved this back when I was moving around more. Best of luck and I'll definitely be recommending to my friends looking for new roles.

Thanks,

Jacob
