Anyone else feel like there are way too many writing tools now?
by•
Every other day I come across a new writing app, and somehow they all promise to make writing easier...
I've tried a few, but I usually end up going back to Google Docs or ChatGPT because switching between different tools for every little thing gets tiring.
Do you guys actually use separate apps for emails, blog posts, and other writing, or do you just stick with one tool for everything?
Curious if there's anything out there that's genuinely worth switching for.

What's worked for us: one place to write and one tool that only edits. Tools that try to do both tend to rewrite the voice along with the mistakes.
The one extra we kept is a check for obvious AI tells in drafts: filler connectors, every sentence the same length. Disclosure: we built ours, TextHumanize (open-source, runs offline), because we didn't want drafts going to yet another API. Whatever you try, I'd only switch to something that shows you what it changed instead of handing back a whole new text.
