Has anyone ever gotten real feedback after an interview rejection?

Genuinely curious. Most rejections I've seen are some version of "we've decided to move in another direction" and nothing else.
Has anyone ever gotten actual, useful feedback after an interview? What did it say, and did it change how you interviewed next time?
And for the hiring managers here: is it legal stuff that stops you from sharing, or just time?

I've been running my own business for over 20 years now, but back when I was an employee, that happened to me a lot. I'd really have liked them to just tell me exactly why I didn't get the job.
