The hardest part of writing case studies was never the writing

by

I spent a few years writing case studies for B2B tech companies, and the writing was never the hard part.

The hard part was getting the actual story out of the engineers and PMs who did the work.

By the time marketing wanted to turn a project into a case study, the people who knew what really happened were busy, moved on, or couldn't remember the numbers.

You could usually get there in the end, but it took chasing people, sitting through calls, and a lot of back and forth just to reconstruct what happened.

Does this happen to you too, or did I just work at messy places?
