What do you think marketing will look like in 5-10 years?

The economy thrives on business, and business thrives on marketing. New challenges continually arise in companies, making it satisfying to see how marketers embrace emerging technologies to tackle these challenges and ensure growth in the next 10 years.

As many people already mentioned AI, I would say that while AI is a big game changer, we have Web 3.0 elements growing at an unprecedented pace. Keeping that in mind we should know the promises that Web 3.0 is focused on delivering. Including privacy and anonymity. During the time I spent studying and working on marketing projects and in the Web 3.0 space. I have noticed a huge gap that is yet to be filled. For me, marketing will also evolve in the next generation of Marketing, or marketing 3.0 as an individual's trust will move from a 3rd party entity to another individual. We can already see examples of this in the form of influencers. However, I personally feel that the people who are putting their trust in influencers will soon learn their lessons, and they will look towards a close, intimate form of trust, or we can call it a "social trust circle" you will eventually see this in a form of community. So yes, marketers may need to evolve the typical techniques such as buyer persona, cold emails, lead segmenting and the psychological play that is being done. There can be multiple reasons for this revolution, one of them primarily being AI. Yes! while AI is beneficial to marketers right now, it will cause immense competition, while the colors and brand elements are used by huge entities to develop trust and play with a consumer's psychology, we should realize that AI will allow any individual to develop the same content at a similar pace. This will allow content bombardment and confuse the consumers on what to focus on. Reverting to Influencers was of no use. They would have to choose between democracy and monarchy. Thanks to the availability and tools provided by Web 3.0 everyone, including myself, will look forward to democracy. Buyer persona's will soon turn to community persona. Cold Email to individuals will soon convert to business pitch. Selling will soon turn into collaboration. Ofcourse, this is my personal view and I am open to discussion or critism :)

I imagine AI will seep into marketing as well in the next few years. My bet would be on AI-tuned ads and content. Things that look like regular videos and posts, but are actually ads in disguise.

@xgrv Well said! 🙌
Ishan Nangia
@xgrv Yes. Similar to what is happening with product placement these days in influencer/content creator based videos
Sofia Li
@xgrv Agree. Ads in disguise in all sorts of content, with the help of AI.

It is difficult to predict exactly what marketing will look like in 5-10 years, as it will depend on a number of factors including technological advancements, changes in consumer behavior, and the evolution of the business landscape. However, it is likely that marketing will continue to become more data-driven and personalized, with AI and machine learning playing an increasingly important role in targeting and delivering messages to consumers. Marketing may also become more focused on building long-term relationships with customers, rather than simply driving short-term sales. Additionally, the rise of new technologies such as virtual and augmented reality may change the way companies market their products and services.

@anshaj_goyal Beautiful analysis, congratulations. I have been using product hunt for a while now, and this was the most comprehensive reasoned response I have read. Bravo

The main thing I can envision is AI being a go-to companion for marketers, not replacing them. AI could automatically segment leads, aid with copywriting in real time etc
Giovanni Ghigliotti
@aaronoleary I agree, AI is definitely going to bring some incredible changes. 🙌🚀

hopefully more targeted

AI will definitely play a bigger role. Also, the role of the community will be increasing constantly.

@sergey_kornilov1 Definitely 🙌

I think it is highly unpredictable
Giovanni Ghigliotti
@geeta_chaturvedi Certainly, but those who foresee or analyse can create products with needs that we do not currently have but will have

Nothing will change in terms of nailing your target audience and having an irresistible offer. But how you reach your audience, engage and influence them will of course be different depending on the new apps and tech available.
Giovanni Ghigliotti
@hitesh_mistry Yes, exactly, but this will change everything in a way.

I think no matter what tools people use to do marketing, there will be less room left for stretching things. Competitors in all sorts of products are growing, and customers will be unsatisfied if they feel cheated.
