What’s a minimal setup tweak you made that outlasted all your expensive gear?
by•
Some time ago, I cleared off my entire desk getting rid of extra monitors, gadgets, and RGB lights and stuck to just a laptop on a bare table. No aesthetic plan, no productivity setup. Years later, I’m still working this way, and my output has never been higher. Meanwhile, the elaborate productivity gear I spent hundreds on just created distraction. It taught me that removing friction beats adding fancy tools.
Have you ever simplified your workspace and found it actually improved your focus?

The agent config was stripped down to one rule: print raw stderr and exit codes without summarizing. A broken script is easy to fix. Watching an agent cheerfully report that a migration went through cleanly when it silently skipped every table cost an entire weekend.
@konstantin_tikhaev That's a really practical tweak. I'd rather see raw errors and exit codes than get a polished summary that hides what actually went wrong. A simple setup with transparent feedback can save a lot of debugging time, especially when agents handle important tasks.
