Why most "read later" features fail in daily practice??

Almost every content platform now comes with a built-in bookmark or favorite button.
The problem is that saving content is effortless but returning to consume it requires intentional effort. Without a smart system to resurface those items or remind us they exist, saved lists just turn into digital clutter.
Lately. I’ve stopped saving articles altogether. If I don't have time to read something right then I usually just close the tab and let it go.
Have you found a bookmarking workflow or app that actually forces you to review what you saved or have you given up on saving things for later too?
