Will Threads be the end of Twitter?

by
Given all the recent changes on Twitter like paid verification, daily restriction on the no. of tweets etc., and given threads is a replica of twitter - do you think it will replace Twitter?

The incentives to get people to create accounts and the sense of FOMO (getting friends to be automatic followers, listing your position etc) are pretty clever.

Initial hype up will fade away in few weeks, if the user experience does not meet expectations.

No. I don't think so, especially when it's not working in Europe. In my opinion, to build a new succesfull social network, it has to be something really new and interesting, not a worse copy of existing one :)

At the moment, no other platform can compete with Twitter; however, only time will reveal if this remains true in the future.

Looks like Twitter will end itself before this happens. So much change with the X

I don't see it - The switching costs are too high for current Twitter/X users. I also have concerns surrounding the privacy/user comfort of importing contacts.

Zuck promotes censorship and protecting peoples feelings in exchange for data. Elon is charging users for verification so that you can say whatever you want. Probably gonna be a lot more junk content on twitter. I would like to see one of these platforms offer something like a super like that you can use on one piece of content a week. That way there is a reward for creating really good valuable content Instead of rewarding shallow content that appeals to the most people
