Great question — and one that gets overlooked way too often.
I’ve found “your” works better in onboarding and guidance contexts (“Set up your profile”), because it feels conversational and directive. “My” tends to work better inside dashboards or account settings (“My subscriptions”), because it creates a sense of ownership once the user is already settled in.
That said, consistency across the product is usually more important than the exact pronoun choice. Nothing breaks trust faster than switching back and forth between “my” and “your.”
