When will AI necessitate a Universal Basic Income?

So imo, one of the logical conclusions of AI automation is a universal basic income that fully meets people's needs (let's call that a "full UBI"). If one day, 99% of jobs as we know them were automated, at that point I think the vast majority of people would want a full UBI, which is much higher than what most countries offer today, if they have a UBI at all.

But what I'm wondering is: what is the tipping point? Clearly the current level of automation isn't sufficient to get everyone on board with UBI. But some people have predicted that 50% of jobs could be automated within 20 years: if 50% of jobs went away, would you want a full UBI? What about 70%?

The switch from B2C to B2B

I've always been a B2C founder. I've built an app to 100k+ MAU and sold it to a major company. I'm now building a tool called Modu.io to help businesses collect user feedback, taking directly from my own struggles (I got so frustrated with existing tools that I ended up using a single Google form).

I'm not particularly suffering the switch on the building side, I'm actually enjoying it since I'm more interested in using this tool myself, than I was with the B2C one. What I'm finding myself (sort of) uncomfortable at is the distribution/marketing side. I've launched on a bunch of ProductHunt like websites, ended up first on Uneed yesterday (didn't get much traffic-wise honestly), and bought a couple features on some of them as they were relatively cheap.

How do you find a hunter for your product launch?

As I come really close to launching "MarketFit", I have read about benefits of engaging a Hunter - both from the perspective of credibility and visibility.

I have heard that some Hunters are more focused on hunting in a niche eg only Dev tools, while others are agnostic to the niche/category. So, is it really like approaching each hunter individually and checking their interest in hunting your product or is there a forum via PH?

Also, for those who already got a hunter for their product, did you see the difference in the interest in your product? How long before did you reach out to hunters? Did they charge you money (directly or indirectly)?

Also, any Hunters reading this - would be great if you could help us.

Omg! First 100 users despite not being top 5. Ranking irrelevant?!

ProductHunt is great! We just launched @Builduo and crossed 100 new users in the first 16 hours. I was prepared to see only a few sign ups, but it exceeded our expectations.
Some X influencer posted us on their account and that got us a huge boost too!

Thank you ProductHunt!

What are your favorite "fun" apps?

Yesterday @fmerian recommended Googly Eyes from @Sindre Sorhus, which I immediately downloaded! After enjoying the eyes following my cursor around for the day, that got me thinking - what other fun, goofy apps do you all have for your Mac, Chrome, or other devices that don't necessarily serve a purpose other than to bring joy and break the monotony? @Scroll Buddy is another one that comes to mind that I have saved in a collection.

We see productivity apps, AI-based software, open-source products, etc. all the time, but what about your saved products someone made after their 9-5 or on a weekend just to have fun and test their skills?

Has anyone actually replaced support tickets with AI chat yet?

I m curious how far teams have really gone with AI support.

Are you still using chat mainly as a helper alongside tickets - or has AI actually reduced your support volume in a meaningful way?

Would love to hear:

Why haven't SuperApps conquered the US Yet?

Despite their immense popularity in China, SuperApps (multifunctional platforms that combine services like messaging, payments, shopping, and more into a single app) have yet to gain significant traction in the United States. This discrepancy raises intriguing questions about cultural differences, technological infrastructure, and consumer behavior.

One key factor is the fragmented nature of the United States' financial and tech ecosystem. Unlike China, where Alipay and WeChat Pay dominate the market due to a unified financial system and government support, the US has a diverse array of payment gateways, banks, and fintech solutions. Integrating these into a single SuperApp is not only logistically challenging but also requires navigating complex regulatory landscapes.

Moreover, american consumers have grown accustomed to niche apps tailored for specific tasks: such as Venmo for peer-to-peer payments or Paypal for digital purchases.
The US market has also been slower to adopt all-in-one platforms, reflecting a cultural preference for specialized solutions over overarching ones.

We're accidentally creating a generation of salespeople who can't sell

I've been watching this weird trend in B2B sales, and it's honestly keeping me up at night.

Everyone's rushing to implement AI sales tools (rightfully so - the efficiency gains are insane), but we might be accidentally breaking the entire profession.

What will be your moat considering in a few years, everyone can be a builder and creator?

The last few months have blown me away not for the announcements but for the actual use tools like Cursor, Windsurf and the even recent ones like Bolt or Lovable.
As someone who has no knowledge of coding, I have been up during nights materialising the product in my head into an web/app that I can run on my device - all through conversational english. With such pace and removal of barriers, what do you think the next phase of software development would be and what will be the differentiator that defines your(could be your product) success?
