I m testing my iOS app on an iPhone running a pre-release/beta version of iOS.
When trying to leave an App Store rating/review, I get this message: You can t write reviews while using a prerelease version of iOS.
Has anyone faced this issue before?
Is there any official way to submit an App Store review while staying on the iOS beta, or is using a device running the public/stable iOS version the only option?
Scroll through half the launches here and it's obvious. Cool tech, clever execution, no real problem underneath. Built because building is fun, not because someone was stuck without it.
Nothing wrong with that honestly, building for fun is a legitimate reason to build. But calling it a "startup" or acting confused when it doesn't get traction is where it falls apart. A bored person solving their own boredom isn't the same as a founder solving someone else's pain.
Be honest about which one you're doing. They need completely different strategies to actually work.
Most people building here are doing the first one and marketing like it's the second.
Finding interesting software is easy, but keeping track of it is a mess. Every week I come across several tools on Product Hunt, think "that looks useful," close the tab, and forget the name within an hour. Then, when the exact problem pops up weeks later, I cannot remember what the app was called.

Small rant incoming. I keep downloading to-do apps marketed as simple and calm, only for them to launch into a five-minute setup wizard asking about my "productivity style" or whether I'm a "sprinter" or a "marathoner." I literally just want to type "buy milk."
The apps that actually feel calm are usually the boring ones with zero personality. No streaks, no confetti, no motivational pop-ups when I check off a task. Just a list that stays a list.

We have been doing remote work for years, yet many companies still measure productivity exactly how they did in an office. They look at the hours logged on a screen or how quickly someone replies to messages. But sitting in front of a computer for eight hours straight does not automatically mean you are doing great work.
Sometimes you solve a complex technical problem in two hours. Other days you spend the whole afternoon just organizing your tasks. The time spent online does not always match the actual value created.
I really think we need to shift the focus. Instead of counting minutes, we should look at the impact of the work and the general pulse of the team. Did we hit the milestone? Is the quality of the output high? Are people communicating well?
Been shipping a lot of code lately with Cursor/Claude doing a good chunk of the actual writing. Velocity is great, but I've noticed I trust my own understanding of the codebase less than I used to - I'll touch one file and have no real sense of what else depends on it until CI (or prod) tells me.
