How do you actually handle your legal docs as a founder? (Termly, attorney, AI, or something else?)

I'm about to launch my product and I'm stuck on my legal pages privacy policy, ToS, cookie consent. I keep seeing wildly different advice on what "good enough" actually looks like, and i wanted to get real advice from real founders:

  • Tools like Termly/Cookiebot/Iubenda fast and cheap, but are they actually defensible?

  • Hiring an attorney feels like the "right" answer but expensive for a bootstrapped solo project

  • AI-drafted docs tempting, but I have no idea how much I should trust them

For those of you who've shipped a product: what did you actually go with, and would you do it differently now? Trying to figure out if I'm overthinking this or under-covering myself.

Google impressions dropped from 1,500 a day to almost zero overnight. Has anyone seen this before?

I m trying to figure out what happened to a relatively new website I ve been working on.

Google impressions were growing pretty consistently and eventually reached around 1,500 per day. Then suddenly they dropped to almost zero and have stayed there.

I spent two weeks optimising the wrong variable — how long did yours take to show up?

I audited my own video numbers this week and found something I'd rather not have found.

For two weeks I'd been rewriting titles. Moving keywords around, comparing which phrasing pulled better. I had a whole theory about it.

Then I opened the per-video tab and sorted by length. Short clips: 21 uploads, median 32 views. Long ones: 12 uploads, median 1. Same channel, same weeks. One title appears twice at two different lengths 252 views at ten seconds, 5 views at two minutes. Identical words.

So the variable I could actually see was runtime, and the variable I was working on was grammar. About a third of everything I published went into the segment that returns nothing.

The "Who Even Needs This?" Monster

Hey

Let's talk about that uninvited guest that shows up around month 3 of building your startup. You know the one. You started with fire in your belly, convinced you're building the next big thing. Then slowly, quietly, it creeps in:

"Who even needs this?"

Paid $67 for “Unlimited” Video Generation — Hit a Daily Quota After Just 12 Images

1-Star Review ToonBee $67 Unlimited Offer: Very Disappointing Experience

I purchased ToonBee through the $67 one-time payment offer, primarily because the offer represented unlimited video generation. Unfortunately, my actual experience has been very different from what I expected.

After generating only 12 images, the system stopped and displayed a message saying that my daily quota had been exhausted and that generation would resume once the quota refreshed. For me, this was completely inconsistent with my understanding of an unlimited offer.

I contacted the ToonBee team to explain the issue. Instead of providing the unlimited access I believed I had purchased, they offered me 500 additional credits for the day. I did not consider this an adequate solution because my concern was specifically about the advertised unlimited access, not about receiving a small number of additional credits.

Workflows about any process

Hey folks!

How about an app to desing workflows for anything that needs to go from point A to point B, with each node having capacity / constraints for validation. Examples would be Manufacturing processes, Cooking recipes or even Software flow diagrams all designed for rapid prototyping and iteration.

Newsletter dilemma – do you delete inactive subscribers or reactivate them?

Email campaigns are one of the better ways to establish a more personal connection with people.

On the other hand, I understand that if someone subscribes to 5,000 newsletters, they don t have time to open  let alone read all of them. As a result, they might not open your emails for an extended period (e.g., 3 months, 6 months, etc.).

How do you actually verify AI-written content is accurate before publishing?

Been thinking about this a lot lately. Everyone talks about "editing" AI output, but editing usually means fixing tone and flow not checking whether the text still says what the source material actually said.

The failure mode that gets me: a rewrite pass can turn a hedge into a certainty ("may improve" becomes "improves"), or quietly shift a number, without any of it looking like an error. It reads perfectly clean.

If people stop searching, what happens to your funnel?

A friend needed accounting software last month. He never opened Google. He asked an assistant, got three names, then messaged a founder he already knew. No search, no form.

Almost every growth plan waits for that search. And at the same time outbound got free, so inboxes are full of clean emails nobody reads.

The one thing that still seems to work is timing. A company signs a bigger lease, a firm hires ten people in a month, someone writes they are moving in September. No keyword anywhere, but the need is already there.

I test it by hand: one clear change, five people it just happened to, one short message about that change and nothing else.

Anyone found a habit app that "feels made for me" without being gimmicky?

Been trying different habit apps this week to see what actually makes people come back, before building a personalization step into my own app. Grit's onboarding does something clever: it reflects your answers back at you before you even start. Anyone found an app that nails 'feels made for me' without it feeling gimmicky
