Planning an Asset Tokenization Platform in 2026? Here's What I'd Consider First

Over the past year, I've noticed that discussions around asset tokenization have shifted away from "Will this technology work?" to "How do we build something that's production-ready?"

The technical side of tokenization is only one piece of the puzzle. Once you start planning a platform, you quickly run into questions like:

  • How much should an MVP actually cost?

  • Which features are essential for a first release versus later iterations?

  • Is a permissioned blockchain a better choice than a public network?

  • How much effort should be allocated to KYC/AML, custody, and compliance from day one?

  • At what point does it make sense to invest in custom development instead of adapting existing infrastructure?

It also seems that development timelines vary widely depending on the asset class. A platform for tokenized real estate often has different requirements than one built for private equity, commodities, or fixed-income assets.

Did you know who your user was before you launched?

I've been on Product Hunt every day for the past month - and I still can't figure something out.

When I look at new launches, I often don't understand who the product is actually for. And I catch myself thinking "this is probably for someone else" - and moving on.

Is this just me? Or do you also struggle to see yourself in most products you come across?

And if you're a founder - I'm curious which strategy you think works better:

Need suggestions for saving tokens in Claude?

I'm using Claude for content creation, but my tokens get used up pretty quickly. Does anyone have tips for reducing token usage while still getting good results in one go? I'm looking for prompt-writing or workflow strategies that help avoid multiple iterations, since it takes 1 3 hours for my tokens to reset.

Are Industrial Companies Moving Too Slowly Toward Smart Automation?

Over the past few years, we've seen rapid advances in AI, cloud computing, and automation across many industries. Yet when it comes to heavy industries such as oil & gas, power generation, manufacturing, water treatment, and petrochemicals the pace of digital transformation often feels much slower.

Unlike consumer technology, industrial environments can't afford experimentation that risks safety or production. Every new sensor, analyzer, or automation system must prove its reliability, accuracy, and long-term value before it becomes part of a critical process. That makes adoption more challenging, but also more interesting.

One trend I've noticed is the shift from reactive maintenance to predictive operations. Instead of waiting for equipment to fail, companies are using real-time data from process instrumentation, analyzers, and automation systems to detect problems early. The potential benefits are significant:

  • Reduced unplanned downtime

  • Better energy efficiency

  • Improved product quality

  • Enhanced workplace safety

  • Easier environmental compliance

  • Lower long-term operating costs

How do you decide which business gets your attention on a hard day?

I run more than one business and most days that is not the hard part. The hard part is the day when two things go wrong at once and I only have room in my head for one of them. I used to just pick whichever one was loudest, the phone ringing, the email marked urgent. That is not the same as picking whichever one actually mattered most. Curious how other people running more than one thing at once make that call, gut feeling, revenue at risk, or something else entirely.

Anyone still running the real numbers in a spreadsheet, and does it actually work?

I ask because I did, for years, across three different businesses. Not because I did not know better, but because every tool I tried either showed me too much or assumed my business looked like a template. The spreadsheet was slow and manual, but at least I trusted what it told me, because I built every formula myself and knew exactly where the numbers came from. I am curious whether people who have actually moved off spreadsheets trust the replacement, or whether they just got tired of updating rows by hand and quietly traded one problem for another.

The spreadsheet that outlived three systems I paid for

I have bought and dropped four different tools that each promised to replace my spreadsheet. The spreadsheet is still open right now. It is ugly, half the columns only make sense to me, but it never once gave me a confident answer that turned out to be wrong. Every tool that replaced it eventually did, and once that happens I stop trusting anything it tells me. Has anything actually earned enough trust to replace your spreadsheet, or are you still the one holding it together in your head?

At what point do you hire someone just to keep track of things, versus fix the process instead?

I keep meeting people running one or two service based businesses who reach the same fork in the road. Hire an ops person to catch what is slipping, or find a better way to catch it themselves first. I went the second route out of necessity, cash was tight and a hire felt too early. Curious where others draw that line, is it revenue, headcount, or just how much you personally cannot hold in your head anymore?

Post-launch distribution vs. product optimization: How are you pacing your first 30 days?

After the initial launch spike on Product Hunt, most early-stage founders face a critical fork in the road: whether to double down immediately on aggressive paid distribution or spend those first weeks refining onboarding based on launch feedback.

From analyzing recent SaaS releases, a recurring pattern shows up: startups often see high top-of-funnel traffic during launch week, but bounce rates spike on cold channels (like LinkedIn or Meta Ads) because abstract AI features are hard to demonstrate visually in under 15 seconds.

On the other hand, focusing purely on product tweaks without an active acquisition engine quickly kills launch momentum.

For makers and tech builders who have shipped recently:

What unfinished tasks reveal about how teams actually work

Most workflow tools measure completion. I ve found that a recurring task deferred several times can be more revealing: it may point to an unclear handoff, unrealistic timing, or a dependency no one named.

What is one recurring task whose repeated deferrals taught you something important about how your team actually works?
