GitBook AI supercharges your content, making it faster and easier than ever to share knowledge with your team, your community, or the world. Today, we’re introducing Lens — a semantic search tool that can read and summarise GitBook documentation in seconds.
Hi Product Hunt 👋
Today I’m incredibly proud to introduce the public beta of GitBook Lens — a new semantic search tool powered by AI.
We knew that leveraging AI technology could supercharge the content you’ve already created in your GitBook pages. It could help readers find the answers they were looking for faster, and improve the search experience for everyone.
And that’s exactly what GitBook Lens does.
Starting today, anyone can use Lens to ask a question about your documentation, and get a plain English answer in seconds, right in the search box.
Plus, Lens offers follow-up questions you might want to ask, as well as clickable references to your documentation so you can get more information if you need it.
It’s a really powerful tool. And while the experience today is great, we’re still focused on honing and improving it, so your feedback is really useful.
While Lens is in open alpha, anyone can activate it at no extra cost — for both their internal knowledge and their public documentation. Head over to our website to find out more.
We built GitBook to empower developers and technical teams to embed knowledge and documentation into their daily workflow. Your knowledge is incredibly valuable, and giving you the tools to easily share that knowledge — and help other people access it — has always been our driving force.
That’s why we’re so excited about Lens, as it gives you, your team and the rest of the world a new way to uncover your knowledge.
As always, thanks so much for all your support! We’ll be hanging out in the comments all day to chat. Please ask away — we promise we won’t answer with AI 😉
@mboudoukhane Would love to hear about your experience when you implement it!

Incredible work by the GitBook team. Love the new GitBook Lens feature. It decreases the amount of support tickets that we receive while providing great answers. A bit hard to find in the search UI as users might not be familiar with "Lens".
