How do you avoid creating a company full of extroverts? I personally see the appeal but I think this would be off-putting for people that are more on the shy side or introvert. Not everyone is comfortable jumping in front of a camera and some people express themselves much better through writing.
@yannschaub@pbmarcano You guys are totally right to raise this question - that's why it is super important to have a variety of people representing the company on the camera and asking the questions to the candidate. This way it will be appealing to anyone.
- At the same time, compared to other video recruitment tools where candidates are being asked to answer live questions, with Heroes, they can record and redo the video as many times as they want, before they feel confident enough to go to the next step.
- I would add that the recruiter isn’t a film director looking for the next Johnny Depp… They are mainly looking for great content. Candidates will have a physical interview at some point, video just makes the process faster and smoother for everyone in most cases.
- Finally, for sales or customer service positions, companies sometimes need to filter out on the degree of confidence/extraversion.
I hope that it clarifies some doubts you might have and happy to continue the discussion.
@mcflydev Thanks a lot for the upvote. To answer your doubts, Heroes is actually working since we already had +10k applications in only a few months in Europe. For this reason, we decided to come and launch in the US, starting with the bay area. Our team is everyday on campuses with the students since the start of the fall semester and they already love it for three main reason: 1/They can reach out directly to the best companies, like a first interview but asynchronous 2/They take 10min of selfies per day and are used to this way of communicating 3/They receive an answer within a week, because employers are a lot more responsive to a personalized video. Hope this helps and happy to answer other question you might have.
@tristanpetitw that is what i call a great answer with strong arguments. Thank you for it. I really love when people try to change things and this is what you are doing with this.
Good luck from an entrepreneur and innovation enthusiast

Great concept, super cool user experience on both sides (companies and applicants). Well done guys!
@tanguy_le_quilliec We take this question very seriously. From Day 1 we built Heroes with one objective: to give voice to talents. The applicants that apply with Heroes manage to stand-out thanks to their personality in their video pitch. We want to fight against any barriers or bias they might encounter when sending a cover letter/resume with just a name written on a piece of paper... On the other side we want to help companies diversify their teams!!

Can candidates send the same video to all companies?
Hey, @victoria_laubie as talents answer different video-questions for each companies, they cannot send the same application to all -- like they do on other platforms sending the same cover letter or video... Only the most motivated talents apply, keeping the amount of applications at a minimum. That's how our applicant per hire ratio is 2%, which is 10x better than the industry average :)

Great team, very driven and passionate. I like the idea of turning the recruiting process into a two-sided video story. Pitch back!
Pros:Make recruitment great again
