Hey Hunters! 👋 Santhosh here, one of the developers behind House of FOSS.
This is our second launch, and we’re excited to share what we’ve been building.
House of FOSS is a fully managed open-source marketplace to run serious open-source software. Self-hosting made as easy as installing an app on your phone.
We built this because self-hosting can be complicated, and many SaaS tools charge more as your team grows.
With House of FOSS, you can launch open-source apps on your own dedicated server with a single click. We handle the installation, backups, and updates — so you get all the benefits of open source without the operational headaches.
Our pricing philosophy is simple: pay for the server, not for how many people use it. Add more teammates? The price stays the same.
You can get started with as little as $10.
Would love to hear your thoughts !

Hey Hunters 👋
Philip here — founder of House of FOSS.
We originally launched House of FOSS in Feb 2025 with a simple belief:
Open source should be as easy to use as installing an app.
Since that launch, a lot happened.
Users signed up, deployed tools, shared feedback, and showed us where things worked — and where they didn’t.
So instead of patching things…
We rebuilt the entire platform.
Over the last two months, we rewrote the whole codebase and redesigned the user experience from scratch.
A few things we focused on in House of FOSS 2.0:
⚡ Faster deployments 🧊 A cleaner UI inspired by Apple’s Liquid Glass design philosophy 🧠 A simplified user journey — fewer steps, less friction 🛠 Focus on serious open-source tools that businesses actually rely on
Technically, this rebuild was also an experiment in AI-assisted engineering. Much of the work was done using Cursor + Claude Code, which allowed us to move at a platform-engineering pace without a huge team.
Our mission remains the same:
Help businesses adopt and host open source software easily — without the complexity that usually comes with self-hosting.
We're still early and there’s a lot more coming. More applications. Better workflows. And deeper integrations.
Would love to hear your thoughts, feedback, or ideas for tools you'd like to see on the platform.
Thanks for checking it out 🙏

I had the opportunity to work as a QA during the early stages of House of FOSS, and it’s great to see it launch here.
The goal was to make self-hosting much simpler while keeping the power of open-source tools. It’s been exciting to see the product evolve from early builds to what it is today.
Congrats to the team on the launch! 🚀 Looking forward to seeing how the community uses it.

👋 Hi Product Hunt, I’m one of the developers behind House of FOSS.
We’re excited to finally share what we’ve been building.
We built House of FOSS because teams want powerful open-source apps, but setting up and operating them takes too much infra work.
With House of FOSS, you can launch open-source apps quickly and run them on dedicated infrastructure without managing servers day to day.
What we focused on:
Dedicated server per app
Launch in minutes from a 100+ app catalog
Secure HTTPS URL by default
Automatic daily backups (up to 7-day restore)
Usage metrics and activity logs
Usage-based credit billing (not per-user pricing)
You can start small (as low as $10 credits), stop anytime, and scale as needed.
