Why is every online HTML editor so bloated in 2026?
Hey Product Hunt community!
I'm an aspiring web developer, and lately, I’ve noticed a frustrating trend: whenever I want to test a simple <button> or a CSS flexbox layout, I have to open tools that require a 10-second loading screen, a mandatory login, or are cluttered with 'AI-everything' that I don't always need.
I decided to build a 'minimalist first' alternative—HTML Live Preview. No accounts, no server-side lag, just instant rendering in the browser.
I’m planning to launch it here this Saturday (Feb 14) as a gift to the dev community, but before I do:
I’d love your early feedback:
1. What is the #1 feature you feel is 'missing' from current online sandboxes?
2. Do you prefer a split-screen view or a toggle-based preview for mobile testing?
I'm building this in public and want to make sure it actually solves the 'friction' problem for you all.
