Do Personal Website still Work?
Hey everyone 👋
So here's something that's been on my mind lately — especially with how competitive job applications have gotten.
Every time I sit down to apply somewhere, I go through this whole internal debate: Should my resume and personal website match in style and design? Should I even have a personal website, or is a solid LinkedIn + GitHub combo enough these days? And if I do have a website, how much effort should I really put into building a cohesive personal brand around it — without overcomplicating things?
Honestly, I go back and forth on this every single time I come across a new application. It feels like everyone has a different take on what actually moves the needle.
So I'm curious — what's worked for you? Have you found that a personal site actually made a difference, or did you land roles just fine without one? Would love to hear what's clicking in this market.
Oh and while I'm here — here's my website: Visit my website
If you have a sec to check it out, I'd genuinely appreciate any feedback, suggestions, or even a quick review. Don't hold back!
