Hey PH! I'm Jeremiah — homeschool teacher building parental control tools
Hey everyone! Excited to join the Product Hunt community.
I'm Jeremiah Daws — I teach Film and Creative Technology at Artios Academies, a homeschool hybrid school in Sugar Hill, Georgia. I built both the Film and Creative Technology programs from scratch, teaching 13 classes to over 150 students covering everything from screenwriting and directing to Arduino programming and 3D design.
Before teaching, I spent years in professional video production creating branded content for Disney, Marvel, Lucasfilm, National Geographic, and Hallmark through Yellow Shoes Creative. I also run 3D Jumpstart, an after-school 3D design and printing program for ages 10-17.
Lately I've been building SafeFamily (getsafefamily.com) — a suite of three parental control web apps that help families control what their kids watch, listen to, and read. I built it because I personally experienced the problem. Working with homeschool families every day, I saw parents constantly frustrated by the lack of adequate parental controls — especially for Apple Music and YouTube. The existing tools weren't good enough, so I built better ones.
The three apps are SafeTunes (Apple Music parental controls), SafeTube (YouTube parental controls), and SafeReads (book content analysis). All bundled for $9.99/month.
I'm here to connect with other builders, get feedback, and learn from the community. Happy to chat about edtech, parental controls, creative technology education, or anything else. Looking forward to meeting you all!
