Argel Sabillo | Building HeyApril

Launching in a few hours. Wide awake. Grateful. Nervous. Excited.

Hey Product Hunt 👋🏽
I’m Argel, founder of HeyApril AI.

I’ve been a long-time member of the Product Hunt community, and this is my first time launching. Honestly, it still feels surreal.

We go live in less than 2.5 hours, and I can’t sleep.

We gave ourselves a month plus a solid two weeks to prep.
And somehow, it still came down to the wire.

There were so many moving pieces:

• Product polish and walkthrough videos
• Social posts and outreach
• Emails to friends, builders, and creators in our network
• Planning a launch party
• Setting up a global team celebration to thank the people building this with me
• Trying to show up for family in the middle of it all

It’s funny how a launch isn’t just about the product.

It’s about juggling energy, people, timing, and emotions — all at once.

HeyApril was built because I kept seeing creators and founders struggle with taxes, not due to carelessness, but because clarity shows up too late.

Today feels like the first real step of putting that belief out into the world.

Mostly, I just wanted to say:

I’m grateful to be here.
Grateful for this community.
And really excited (and a little nervous) to learn in public today.

Can’t wait to see how this turns out 🚀

If you’re launching today too — good luck. I’m cheering for you.

This has been over 10 years in the making in my head, and today it finally gets shared in public for the first time.

Coming into this launch from an operator’s seat, what’s stood out most is how much work happens around the product to make a launch real.

The last few weeks have been about:

  • tightening timelines while things were still moving

  • coordinating people across time zones

  • aligning product, marketing, and community efforts in parallel

  • making decisions quickly, then adjusting just as fast

  • keeping the team focused while energy (and nerves) were running high

A launch like this isn’t just about shipping code, it’s about keeping momentum without burning people out, and making sure the right things get done even when everything feels urgent.

HeyApril AI exists because we believe clarity should come earlier, not at the last possible moment. Launching today is us testing that belief with real users, in real conditions, and being open to what we learn.

Grateful to our team and the people who made this possible and to the Product Hunt community for being a place where building and learning in public is encouraged.

Very cool to be apart of the mix and I remember the first versions of this app we discussed back in 2016.

Taxes have been one of the key pain points for so many passionate entrepreneurs I have met as well!
